From last night:
George, what is the deal about a gay scene in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST?

There were two moments (just shots, really)...not full scenes.  During the big fight between the townspeople and the enchanted furniture of the castle, the wardrobe spits out ribbons and clothes, and three townsmen end up in dresses and makeup.  Two turn away and leave to continue fighting, but the third looks at the wardrobe with a big grin on his face covered in makeup.

The second moment is at the end of the movie when everyone's dancing at Belle and the prince's wedding.  As they dance, they change partners every once in a while and that same townsman (now back in men's clothes) and LeFou end up becoming partners for a moment and they look at each other for probably less than a full second, then the shot instantly moves onto other people in the dance.

Despite his post Camelot showings Alan Jay Lerner always had a few songs from each of his unsuccessful that always stood out. One More Walk Around the Garden is one of them. This is the first time I heard it as a solo.

TOD:  Do films like Peggy Sue Got Married and Back to the Future count for this, where there's time travel to the 50's?

What pops to mind are:

Pleasantville
Grease (most of it anyway)

I have a Fish Out of Water rehearsal this afternoon, and I'm watching Jesus Christ Superstar from the audience tonight.

It's my last Fish rehearsal till tech week three weeks from now.  I joined for several early rehearsals this time because of the score being so keyboard heavy and the kids needing to hear some stuff, not to mention my wanting to put the RMS Keyboard Solutions through its (and my) paces.  There were a few kinks to work out and I've pretty much got it nailed, thanks to good tech support from the RMS folks.  I've also sent a list of patch errors/suggestions for them to fix or consider.

My friend Roy is in town while his wife has something at the UN for today and tomorrow.  We're seeing Come From Away tomorrow night, and we may see a show tonight.  After my coffee, I'll call him and make some plans.
