Today is my favorite of the Christian holidays

That's because you're a wonderful, generous Christian woman, DR vixmom!  To me it's all S&M mythology combining myths about the return of spring with torture and crucifixion.  I don't believe the Christmas miracles either, but I love the holiday and the music!

My mother, at my request, took me to an Easter service at the beautiful Presbyterian church near us.  We both enjoyed the music very much.  The church had a wonderful choir.  As lovely as the service was I decided I wanted to continue being Reform Jewish.

My friend Anna fell last month and cracked one or more vertebrae. She came home yesterday. I hope her family members rise to the occasion; she usually does EVERYTHING and now she MUST rest. It's a bad situation.

Vibes to your friend.  I hope she does not do anything for her family.

It's DR Matthew Week, with a mini-HHW get-together on Tuesday.

My worst Easter was a folk mass in Pittsburgh, 1972. Easter music is bad enough, but the Catholics did no one any favors with the folk mass. I'd rather be at Godspell!

Finished with the In-Laws and now am watching it again with director Arthur Hiller, writer Andrew Bergman, and stars Alan Arkin and Peter Falk reminiscing about the movie.

Interesting tidbit: Marlon Brandon was such a fan of the movie that he watched it about 20 times. It was because of the In-Laws that he agreed to do The Freshman, which is another favorite.

I have to think of some way to commemorate one of my favorite lines, which is about the Guacamole Act of 1917. This being the 100th anniversary, of course.

Had a nice Easter dinner with some friends from church.

Lamb, asparagus, potatoes, pea and apple salad, tossed salad, cheeses, pies.

Oh and wine, gin, bourbon and something called Grind, a rum and espresso liqueur that went down way too easy with some half-and-half in it.

It was also pleasant enough to sit outside for awhile, though the mosquitoes found me. They love my blood.

Quite envious of you, Jane. It's been five years since I went to the villa in Torre Alfina in Friuli. I wanna go back to Italy.
