I received my "award" -- a clock in a handsome book-like case.

What a coinkydink!  I received a very similar type of clock for my work 20th anniversary, too.  For my 25th, I got a Mikasa Crystal 10 Inch Diamond Sparkle Square Bowl (I actually still have it here in my office and the box has the UPC code):

I really don't have any use or place for it at home. ::)

Picked up packages - I must say, there were several near miss accidents due to insane drivers paying no attention.  Then had the two meetings, which went very well.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, DR John. So very sad.

Well, it's time for me to leave work and usher for Present Laughter.  Several friends are in it, and it should be pretty good!

Be back later.

Glad that DR Jane and DH Keith are on their way home, safe and sound.

Not much going on tonight so I'll just wish everyone a good evening.

Starting to watch Elle, a movie about rape and its aftermath. Isabelle Huppert is, if possible, better than she usually is. Very violent and unsettling story, and we see the rape scene over and over again but in different ways.

Not for the faint of heart. But she's amazing.

It is also the 42nd anniversary of my friends, Pam and Cecil, who traveled to Denver with me.

Just doing the last preparations for a competition the first weekend in June. I'm too tired to think about it.

I hate having to turn off this movie at the halfway point, but I'm going to need to get some sleep.

Found a fascinating book on CD at the library the other day called Being Mortal by Atul Gawande. It's about how ill equipped our society is at dealing with geriatric issues. After my visit to Mickey in Denver and seeing what my folks are facing, it has some really good information to think about. I'm on the third of seven discs in just two days of driving and listening.

Got news that The Federal has booked another event on our show day.  I've been offered two alternate dates - the first of which I cannot do, and the second of which is on Father's Day, so that's not so great, although we could try it - however, I've now lost two cast members who can't do those dates.  I'm finding out if Monday the 12th is doable - if so, I'm gonna grab that one and make it work.

I did dive into act two of the Sherman Brothers musical.  I also had a message from its book writer who assured me he's fine with whatever I'm feeling it's necessary to do.  That's very good, and then he'll come to our private reading and anything he'd like to adjust from there on in he can easily do.  I suspect he won't mind anything I've done, as it's always in the spirit of his writing, story, and style.

BK, I think your work is underappreciated by The Federal.
