I got through almost all of "How Can I Wait?"and I'm quitting for the evening.  I had to run to Staples to photocopy 20 more sheets of score paper and I stopped at the bank.  I have to be at 23rd and 5th Avenue for my ophthalmologist at 9:00 tomorrow morning and there may be no time to hit a bank before I go.

I liked reading the comments on SOMETHING WILD.  Last year on TCM, they had a Jack Garfein night and he introduced this movie and THE STRANGE ONE....near the end of the evening after SW, he mentioned in passing that he was married to Carroll Baker when they made the film.

Carroll Baker has always been a favorite actress/movie star of mine....and I think she had something, although it wasn't always used to her advantage....BUT who else do we know who played opposite Clark Gable (But Not For Me), James Dean (Giant), and Jack Nicholson (Ironweed).

Evening all!  I had a another quiet weekend for the most part.

I drove past the local Goodwill and something whispered in my ear to stop because there was something there I was looking for.  I've had this happen before and every time I get that feeling something, I've wanted is there.

In this case, I've had it on my mind that I want a short pair of brown lace up boots to go with an outfit I have for the ren fest in December but I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a new pair.

Well, Lo and Behold, there were the very boots I've had on my mind for the past couple of weeks. EXACTLY like what I pictured in my head-and yes, they fit me like they were made for me. AND they were the grand sum of $8.98!

I will take them to get some taps put on the heels but other then that, they are perfect!

I love it when that happens.

Back from a very good rehearsal day - we assembled and we ran the show - more about that in the notes, but our design team, knowing how early in the game this is, wanted to come by and make notes to get a head start.  I think their mouths were on the floor, frankly, that we're where we are. And our costume designer, who was at the private reading at my house, could not believe what I've done to make the show into a coherent musical - so I was very pleased with their reactions.

Can anyone explain the Fitbit thing to me?  From the little I know ( and trust me I know little)  it's just  a digital pedometer ....

It's something you pay too much money for to tell you that you're not walking enough.

Well, I don't need those shoes, but, yes, I do love it when that happens. I'm a Goodwill fan.

I'm back to watching the second half. The movie is fascinating because it says a lot of things that weren't said elsewhere at the time. Rape was not exactly the plot twist of every movie being made then. And Garfein's cast is incredible. Jean Stapleton and Doris Roberts in early roles were almost too perfect in their irritating characteristics.

And on the Cast Recording List, Mr Canmer remains a pain in my butt.

Yes. He is a pompous ass. Ignore him as best you can. Your life will be much easier.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Mary Linda and I had a great time yesterday at the Women's Wine and Chocolate Walk around downtown Middletown.  There were a lot of attendees from out of town who were learning that there's more to Middletown than what they see on the local news and read in Hillbilly Elegy.

There's more to Middletown than that, eh? I never encountered the Hillbilly Elegy part of Middletown, but my impressions were not considerably greater. Though I do love some folks from there, including DRs Ginny and Elmore as well as my great friend Laurie.

I wish some Arabian king would give me $100 million to record and restore musicals. Where does the money in that moronic ass Ivanka Trump's "fund" go to, besides her little complicit self?

If I ever win the lottery, I will fund you. No doubt about it. I want that "Let's Face It" recording.

Now, I just have to buy a ticket ...

Worked a great many hours on body movement today. I hope some of it sticks. It woudl help. It certainly feels easier when we both do things right while we're dancing.

I'm now downloading the revival cast recording of The Color Purple. I hope it's a little more focused than the original. There were some good things in the score, but too many of the songs seemed to have been cut short or not let developed to their full length.
