TOD - University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music's THE BARTERED BRIDE.  The opening number was all magenta, turquoise, goldenrod, and lime green - sounds ghastly, but it was beautiful.

Here's another question for the class re I Do! I Do!

The original orchestration by Philip J. Lang includes two pianos in addition to the traditional pit orchestra.  (In my listening so far, I can tell that there are two only in just a couple of places on the original cast album.)  The question is:  were those pianists in the pit, or on stage?  What was the concept?  It's not like they were representing the two characters -- or was it?

Have limited exposure to big shows.  My favorite production design was "Wicked".

A close second was "La Boheme" (Baz Luhrmann's production).

Camelot, 1962 national tour
Light in the Piazza, Lincoln Center

I agree with Light in the Piazza, but I only saw it on TV.  I know that it's not the same as seeing it live, but it was lovely to look at.

Of the shows I've seen live, I thought the 5th Avenue Theatre's production of The Secret Garden was gorgeous to look at.  And their production of Sunday in the Park with George with Hugh Panero a few years ago was great, too.

Darn, it is raining again.  I thought it was done for the day.  I hope it stops soon and we have a clear afternoon.   Keith has arranged his schedule to help with planting around our building and 2 other buildings.

Listening to Sandy Bainum. It's helping with the stress of the day.
