THE MOTHER OF ALL FATHER'S DAYS
« on: June 18, 2017, 12:02:08 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Father's Day, and now it is time for you to post until the fatherly cows come home.

Last night in my dreams, I was smoking (cigarettes) in, at least, one of them.

Listening to the mono versions of Ravel now - just as scintillating as the stereo versions, just more nostalgic in sound - captivating performances, though - the stereo versions are equally captivating but these are great to hear.

I, on the other hand, am listening to Mary Martin's HELLO, DOLLY! For the second night in a row.

I remember watching it, but I don't remember if I recorded it.  If I did, it's buried somewhere.  Sorry, Tom. :-\

Listening to two of the later Haydn symphonies - I know nothing of Haydn.  And I don't think hearing these two is making me want to know more.

Haydn gave up composing and moved to Arabia.

Yesterday, I first helped my sister at the booth of the Olympia chapter of PFLAG at Olympia's Pride Parade.  The whole event was really nice.  We walked the parade, which lasted a little less than a half hour.  We set up the tent, sat around for a while, then walked the parade, then sat around some more.  While sitting around, the PFLAG folks were passing out stickers and buttons and bumper stickers and bracelets and bead necklaces!  There was a steady stream of people throughout the day.

That Haydn wasn't foolin' around - this guy wrote 104 symphonies.  I'm currently listening to the 104 after having listened to the "Surprise" symphony.

Listening to a cello concerto by another oldster - C.E. Bach.  As opposed to JS Bach or Burt Bach arach

I found out that TAO's 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche totally sold out last night!  A reviewer came on Friday's opening night and he loved it!  He and another person recorded a podcast that they do together.  I was told that they're giving the show a rave revue!

[Typo corrected.] ::)

After that, a friend called and I hung out with him and his wife and some friends of hers for a couple of hours, then I came home.

I should probably go to bed, but I'm listening to C.E. Bach's cello concerto - it's okay - some appealing moments.

Then comes some Schubert - another oldster I know nothing about.  This set is providing some good education.
