I'm happy to announce that my nephew's wife gave birth to a baby girl very early in the morning.  Her name is Genevieve Elizabeth.  Coincidentally, this would have been my mother's 94th birthday, so Genevieve shares her birthday with her great-grandmother!

Congrats all around, Kevin!

I just finished watching the recent version of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

Great songs.  Excellent cast, but the movie was too dark and I don't think that this mixture of live action and animation really worked.

The original animated version is so much better.

DR Jeanne did you see my question regarding Dr Blake?

Yes, I answered last night. Here's the post:

Jane, I wouldn't call the DR BLAKE series great, but I find Dr Blake likeable enough. For me, the series provides an interesting glimpse into 1950s life in urban Australia. The stories could be stronger, though. I'd suggest you watch the next episode, then decide.

Sorry I missed it.  Sometimes I do that at night using my tablet while falling asleep.  Thank you for repeating yourself.

Thanks, we will go with the second episode instead of skipping forward.

DR BLAKE is one of those shows that makes me wonder what it is that makes me feel a show is great, rather than just good. The series is quite good in many ways, IMO, but somehow the writing doesn't draw me in as some shows do.

I did like the Australian 50's aspect and can tell there will be a backstory explaining the doc.  I am hoping to be drawn into caring about these people.

We took our new car for a spin tonight, all the way down the road to eat at Beaches.  We then went a bit farther to Fred Meyers.  It is fun watching people who have never seen a Genesis try to figure out what our car is. While parking at the market we experienced our most enthusiastic person, a 15ish year old boy who ran over to us with a big smile asking "what is that?".

Good evening.
Good evening.

Sandra told the "henweigh" joke at work last week, and Mike fell for it. He told her today that he tried to tell the joke to his wife, and it went something like this:

Mike: "I'm going to the grocery store. Do you want me to get a henweigh?
Wife: "I don't know what that is."
Mike: "You know, a henweigh."
Wife: "I don't know what you are talking about."
Mike: "When I go into the store, do you want me to get a henweigh?"
Wife: "Well, I'm not sure we need one, because I don't know what you are talking about."
Mike: "Look. I say 'Do you want me to get a henweigh,' and you say, 'What's a henweigh."
Wife (confused): "Ok."
Mike: "Do you want me to get a henweigh?"
Wife (confused): What's a henweigh?"
Mike: "About three pounds."
Wife: "... ... ..."
Mike: "... ... ..."

Wife: "I don't think we really need one."
