I was just about to post this last night, but I missed it...again.  Anyway, I still had the quoted part in the quick reply box so here it is:

I was wondering what are our DR'S favorite Bette Davis movies???

Dark Victory
The Bride Came C.O.D.

When I first glanced at this, I though you has posed, The Bride Came O.C.D. :o

:))

Our weather pattern appears to be about the same as TCB's & George's over the next few days  only slightly warmer.

DR JANE yes, I have today on with radiation/chemo and tomorrow off....they have added a day to the end of the schedule.

I have received conflicting information about taking the pills tomorrow, so I am going to ask today.

Conflicting info, not good.  I hope you get the correct answer.  My first thought would be yes, however, if they need to be done together than no.

GOOD LUCK!

I made it home by 11:00, but i would have been happier with 10:30.  I've had my coffee and meds, and I need to get to work.

I just remembered part of my dream being about the Cleveland Rapid Transit (rail)...which I haven't seen or been on since 1972.

TOD: My sister called it "gravy train." It was crumbled ground beef in gravy over mashed potatoes.

I washed the car, so I got two dirt roads' worth of dust and bugs off of her. My car's name is Laverne, by the way.

I expect a haboob to hit soon.

Is that right? Two dirt roads' worth? Or should it be two dirt roads worth?

Now I want a Sloppy Joe.....and DR LAURA reminds me that once in a blue moon we had what they called a Manhattan - which was beef on mashed potatoes on a slice of bread.....and brown gravy.....

The milk was awful.

For awhile in high school - the lunch was ala carte, so you could get two sandwiches if that is what you wanted.....and nothing else....  That didn't last too long....about 1/2 year.....

That's reminding me of chipped beef on toast (which I believe has many names...).  That was at home, though, and might not have even been a cafeteria thing.  Did anyone have it at school?

DR Jrand66, that's bizarre, that they'd start the a la carte thing and then discontinue it so soon.  Actually, it's not bizarre.  It's cruel!   :)

I wish I could remember how much of ours, besides the hamburgers, was a la carte.  I'm totally blank on just about all of it.  Hey, you know what I'll do?  I'll go onto the dreaded Facebook and post these questions to my class.  Yes sir, that's what I'll do.

Both at school and at home.  My mother served it quite often and she was quite a good cook with it.

My fantastic building super Val just became a Facebook friend.  Much as I defended our former super Boba, I think Val is a harder worker and better person.  Here he is on the Brooklyn Bridge.

I loved it, but I have no idea how my mother made it.  I don't even know how I'd make it right now if I wanted to.

Okay, I asked my cafeteria questions.  We'll see if I get any helpful responses.

I wish I knew how.  I remember butter, flour, and milk but I sure couldn't make it.  It was great on toast or mashed potatoes.

I hardly ever ate in the school cafeterias, the food was too horrible.  I had no idea they served Shepard's pie.  My mother's was by far the best I have ever ate.  I am sure it would have been uneatable in the cafeteria.  Since lamb was the first animal I stopped eating, I gave up my all time favorite dish to eat, which was my mother's sheppard pie.

A few responses are showing up.  One person remembers there being two choices every day at our junior high school (sometimes including Sloppy Joes), and three or four choices every day at high school.  And lo and behold, another remembers shepherd's pie at the high school.  I'll be damned.

I did occasionally eat hot dogs in the elementary school cafeteria.
