BEING INDEPENDENT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were independent, and now it is time for you to post until the independent cows come home.

No, I guess I thought it had a different title.  Sorry.

I guess I am going over to my sister's house in the afternoon for a barbecue.

Well, I was going to go to my parents' but my sister practically begged me to install more light fixtures in either or both of her houses and help with more moving stuff, so I probably won't have time to go to my parents'.  She's moving back into her previous house that she still owns and had rented out, but now she wants to sell the house that she's been living in for the last eight or nine years.

Today is also Tumwater's 4th of July Parade, so if I don't leave my condo complex by 10:30 at the latest, the road will be blocked until about 1:00 pm.

Not that it is any of my business, but does her boyfriend ever help with any of these home projects?

Oh, yes, and her daughter too, but none of them have removed and installed light fixtures, and she just needs (wants) the extra help for moving really heavy things.

At 8:30 I will meet a friend I've not seen in years for breakfast on 72nd Street. After that, I will work on the NYMF show.

I have to be out of here soon, and will be out most of the day.

I'm spending the morning at the Norwalk Aquarium, of all places.  Go figure.  Or go know.  (Your choice.)  I haven't been there in several years and I've wanted to see the place, and see their original IMAX theater that still stands (not for long, sadly) and still runs 70mm IMAX film.  I can walk in free with a friend who's a volunteer, so hey, today works, and why not?

Then this evening is my other friend's annual Fourth blast, with great foodstuffs and real fireworks they bring over from Pennsylvania.  I used to always assume (and we know what that means) that they brought them up from the Carolinas or someplace down south, but I asked last year and it's only an hour away, right across the PA state line!  Go figure.  Or go know.

I'll try to find a photo or two - that I THINK might exist - of one of my memorable Fourths.  It's going to take some looking, as they probably exist on slides which will have to be scanned.  That part's easy.  It's the finding them that might be daunting.  So, probably not today.  But soon.

Don't forget that before the parade passes by: you gotta get in step while there's still time left
and then be ready to move out in front because life without life has no reason or rhyme left.
You'll wanna hold your head up high. You'll need a goal again. You'll need a drive again. So that you're will heart start coming alive again. Before that  parade passes by.
