Mirabile dictu!

I believe the elevator will be in service in about 30 minutes!

God damn!

The elevator men lied.  They cannot cease its stopping between floors, so it's still out of order.

If you are in the Sacramento area, I'm doing Mary Jane Popp's radio show today at about 1:30 Pacific Time.

I just discovered I have a fan in my neighborhood.  Not only has he downloaded and listened to three of my audio books, but he just came over to my house with three other paperbacks for signature...including my new novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE.

 :)

Doing another radio interview on that one this afternoon.

That's great, Druxy!  Unless he's a crazy stalker fan! :o Hopefully, he's not!

Topic of the Day:  I'm finally going to finish Betty Buckley's "Story Songs," then it'll be Amélie, then the OBCR of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812.

Just arrived from www.screenarchives.com:  the Blu-rays to Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid To Ask), AND Tom Sawyer / Huckleberry Finn with audio commentary on "Tom Sawyer" by our very own BK and Richard M. Sherman!  Sadly, I can't listen to the commentary until I get home because I don't have a Blu-ray player on my work computer.  But listen to it, I will!

12 members of my book group gathered at Katie's last night for a potluck dinner and to discuss A Man Called Ove and watch the movie.  We usually do this in August, but Katie will be out of town then and she has the best house for it.

Did you prefer the movie or the book?  I read another book by the author at had mixed feelings about the writing.

I thought book dragged in the middle, but I cried at the end.  We didn't have the ideal movie-watching conditions last night.  It's in Swedish, of course, with subtitles and the DVD Sharon brought from the library had some flaws.  We missed portions of a couple of scenes.  Also, there were 11 other women in the room and Katie kept getting phone calls about plumbing problems at their bed & breakfast in Oxford.

I'm on a Sir Richard Rodney Bennett kick!  I knew him slightly, and my friend John Wilson was a good friend of Sir Richard's. he lived on West 81st Street and Columbus Avenue, just a block from me.
