I went to get my hair done today and was surprised to see a woman getting highlights in her hair.  My hairdresser goofed and accidentally filled my spot.  I will return tomorrow.

Had a wonderful two-hour visit with Richard and Elizabeth Sherman - he played through our new song, I made two note adjustments that he liked and it's done now.  We gabbed and gabbed and laughed and laughed and just when we could laugh no more we laughed again.  And he really liked the arrangement we came up with for the act two opener.

Then we had our Kritzerland rehearsal, which went really well.

Then I did a two-and-a-half mile jog and am now home eating tuna pasta salad.

Well, I'm leaving work now.  I have to walk home because after I had lunch at Happy Teriyaki, my car wouldn't start!  I called a tow truck but fortunately before they got there, I was able to start my car and get it to the auto shop that I go to here in town.  They said that they should be able to look at it tomorrow, and hopefully they'll find that it was just the heat preventing the car from starting that one time...hopefully!  Anyway, I'm really glad I live so close!

Be back later.

Went to a banquet honoring my boss for the work he'd done for his church's childhood development center. Only three of us went, but I think he appreciated our being there. We had largely kept it a surprise.

The ceremony was nice, the food less so. But that wasn't the point, right?

I'll tell myself that as I go to bed hungrier than I should be.

I'm going to finish up the last 20 pages of Gypsy Rose Lee's The G-String Murders.

Exciting news - a new Randy Newman album out tomorrow.  His last few have been so weird, with only a couple of keeper songs but none that you could actually sing outside the album - but hearing the samples on this it sounds like he's back into his classic turf and with an orchestra.

Over the course of the day I've had half the tuna pasta salad.  Watched one episode of Hitchcock - not too good, but the next one actually looks great.

I walked close to 8 miles today, more the previous 2 days,  fortunately we have lots of shade to follow.

When I came up into my bedroom this evening, my alarm clock with the temperature indicator said that it was 90.9°F!

They just said that it is currently 76 degrees in Tacoma, but it seems a lot warmer inside.

Not the hottest that it's been up here, though.
