How are you feeling today, DR Elmore?

Much much better, thanks.  I just had a nice lie-down and watched the film Mrs Brown, which I had never seen.  It was quite wonderful. Judi Dench was amazing, but the whole cast was quite wonderful.  since I knew the actor playing Barney the stable boy who seems complicit in Mr Brown's beating, I was surprised there was no follow-up to the events.

Back is still not right. I was talking with the folks about going to the state fair. I can't make it through a grocery store trip. I certainly don't need to go to the state fair.

The airbag light is still on

And that's...um...wait a minute...WTF?

If our family hadn't been going to this mechanic for the past 40 years I would have something to say but I do trust this mechanic .  I was still on the original battery and alternator  for 7+ years and 76,000 + miles so I imagine it was time .  He is only open until noon on Saturdays , he asked if I wanted to take the car back fir the weekend and bring it back Monday or leave it and I chose to take it.  He wasn't going to let me pay anything yet but we settled up what was already done and I'll bring it back Monday morning and borrow  Vixdad's car for the day

Dial 'M' is completely sold out - oversold, in fact, so I'll either stand in the back or just come down there around nine-thirty and go eat.

Great news, BK!  Congrats to everyone!!

Sounds good, and there's nothing wrong with replacing those things.  I just wonder if the light could be telling you there's something amiss with one of the airbags.  (I didn't know we had airbag lights!)   :)

I hope it's a great closing performance.

Glad you're feeling better, DR Elmore.

You asked if something is going around. According to the Weather Underground, flu is widespread throughout the state of NY.

Vixmom, I'm glad your airbags were so helpful in alerting you to the alternator issue. Much better now than later.

"Spider mites in the spruce and a fungus in the maples."

This of course sounds very Cole Porter-ish as a lyric.

I was thinking that it felt like a lyric from the song "One's on the Way" but I see what you're saying.

And here in Topeka, we're shopping for staples
The mites are in the spruce and fungus in the maples
And one's on the way.

or soemthing like that.
