Yesterday on my flight from Buffalo, the flight attendant (I'll call him Mark) announced that the captain had said that turbulence was imminent so everyone needed to be seated. A man got out of his seat and was getting something from the overhead compartment. Mark told him to sit down,which he did, apparently not hearing Mark saying "close the bin first." Mark then came down to do it himself. After a few minutes, the turbulence started and it was quite startling. Mark got on the speaker and said "told you so."
