Last night around 6:00 I met three friends for dinner.  There was much laughter, gossip, catch-up, and more laughter.  I got home around 10:30, posted for DR Danise, puttered around, read a bit. and got to bed sometime after 1:30.  So, I slept late.

I have a few bills to pay now that my Social Security landed in my account today and some work on the Moross score.

Show vibes for Robert Yacko.

Can we get a full set list and/or a video?

I've heard from both the conductor and orchestra librarian and the parts are sent to the players.  There is no rehearsal until the afternoon of the concert on Sept. 3.  DR Ginny, can you record this piece?

Seriously.  I know all too well how difficult things can be when you're concerned about a sick kitty.  Major vibes to DC Nicky.

ASK BK

Recently discussion how bad the CD transfer of Family Affair was because it was taken from vinyl and not the master tapes. Some people said they would buy a new one. There were a couple of previous releases of Follies until you did yours.

Therefore if you did a new release of Family Affair mastered from the original tapes do you think it would be successful?

No, which is why I haven't done it.  Follies is Follies.  A Family Affair is a flop musical that is a curio.  While DRG was lazy and rather inept in the way they released it (if I found where the tapes are, they could have - it didn't take all that much time or detective work), they simply got every sale there was and didn't care about quality.  We'd be lucky to sell 100 of them.

It felt wonderful to once again hike on my beloved Mt Ashland trail. I sat on the rock where we scattered Echo & Sherlock's ashes. We left them some dog treats.

We then went out to breakfast with our hiking group, at  a new place that opened since we moved away. We had an excellent olive and pesto thin pizza.

The car dealership in Vancouver is overnighting a tire and rim. The package should arrive tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed we will be home by dinner time.

Have a lovely day everyone.  I think I'm just going to take the day off.  Maybe I'm trying to hard.  I took it out on David the other night ---I told him he needed to move on because I was upset about not getting a job and we argued all night (texting) until about midnight, my time.  He called over 5 times but I wouldn't pick the phone up.  Bless the man, he could have said that's it but he hung in there with me, didn't yell even though he could have (to be honest, he had the right) and spoke gently to me when I finely did pick up the phone last night. I'm thinking if he is a cat fish, then so be it.   But I don't think he would stick around if he was, there are to many others out there that would be easier to pick on and they have a job.  He can't be after money--I don't have any and he knows it.  I went out with friends last night and he texted, "That's good, Honey but let me know when you get home, I want to know that your safe."  In the middle of yet another hurricane in my life,  I think I may have found myself a fella.  :)

That's really sweet, Danise.  Hopefully, he's for real. :)

Wednesday afternoon greetings.  Our day has been filled with family, friends, tears, laughter, and hugs as we celebrated my mother's long life.  Rev. Amy performed a service that was perfect and it was so good to sing 3 favorite hymns with all those Palmers.  My niece, nephew, and cousin assumed responsibility for meeting the caterer here at the house while we lingered a bit at church.  By the time we got here, our guests had beverages and were getting acquainted and visiting.  Two vehicles left from here for Michigan, one for Illinois, and one for Georgia.  Mary Linda did most of the clean-up and the last guest left about 4:30.

I am pretty tired, but also very pleased.

DR Ginny, where is your mother being buried?

She's being cremated, DR Elmore, and her ashes will be interred with my father's in Livonia, Michigan.  We'll do that in October, when Richard and I will be there for part of the University of Michigan bicentennial.  He will perform a brief committal service for us.

Do you mean at the concert?  I think there's a way to do that with my iPhone...
