Pennsylvania travel vibes for DR VIXMOM.  Have fun!

Thanks to all for the continued vibes.

Congrats to MR BK on his finds!  I am sure I have lots of stuff put away up and behind and around that I will find someday.....although nothing as valuable as MR BK's stash.

Since I am up this early, maybe I will watch Highway Patrol.....even though it's shown in the SPEED UP style that gives us 11 seconds of show in 10 seconds.....irritating....

BK -  Here's a wiki list of what they consider science fiction musicals.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Science_fiction_musicals

You may want to get "Brain from Planet X" on the wiki list.  Maybe you know soemone who knows how to do that.

Oddly, "Starmites" isn't on the list, either??

I saw a dreadful musical of Frankenstein with Cristiane Noll and Hunter Foster. I've never listened to the CD.

Of course, there's plenty of material on Jeepers Creepers to plunder.

The new Holiday Inn came in at the library. Don't know that I like it. The character of Laila has been turned into a dumb bimbo. And too many of the orchestrations sound as if they're cut from the same foxtrot pattern. Bing gave a quiet gravity to some of the songs and that's missing entirely. Corbin Bleu is the only performer to suggest individuality.

Still, Irving Berlin is always welcome.

From Yesterday

Yes I got a refund from the Saturday ticket as I canceled it before 24 hrs was up. Good choice as I heard the airport would have been closed before the flight would have left

The flight I got on yesterday was a "Mercy" flight. Air Canada flew down an empty to get people out. So I was lucky to have booked it.

Now the story behind the story.

I almost missed the plane. I misunderstood what the AC put on their app. It said it was delayed and I thought it was delayed from 3:45pm to 6:55pm.

I was wrong!! However they got me through. I was escorted through security and brought my luggage to the gate. I was the last one to get on. I don't know if they were actually holding the plane for me, but I got on and about 15  minutes the door closed. Luckily they were still waiting for the paper work.

It was panic time!! But I made it on.

I'm pleased to announce that the audio edition of my recently published novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE, is now available for download via audible.com, Amazon and iTunes.

Fred Frees, who has narrated two previous books for me, outdoes himself in his reading -- SCRATCH THAT! -- his PERFORMANCE of my "fish out of water" comic novel about Jackie Moss, a brash, Jewish 1970s Las Vegas comedian who is mistakenly booked for a one-night gig deep in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.  The people who hired him thought they were booking a country-western singer, JAKE Moss, so when Jackie and his pianist get there, they find a very hostile reception.

Consider the possibilities.

I'm very proud of this one.  Please take a listen to it, and if you're not into audio recordings, the book is also available in both paperback and Kindle editions.

In actual practice... well...

Sadly (sort of), no time for ANYTHING.  Sunday might be enough of a ME day to watch a thing or two.  Just maybe.

I'm not sure what my plans are beyond a trip to the animal shelter on East 110th Street.  I have fallen in love with a kitten online, and I may return with a pet, if he's still up for adoption.

I like the Halloween idea.  Victor Herbert's The Lady of the Slipper has a large Halloween sequence with "The Games of Halloween"and a Witches' Ballet.

There was a flop version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from 1949. Jo Sullivan Loesser was in the chorus and Gil Lamb, Ray Bolger's standby in Where's Charley?, played Ichabod Crane.  The music got a good review.

If you've got a good legit baritone, the Father has a spectavular aria about the Gobbling Witch and her fingerbread in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel.
