As you know, I'd never comment on a show I haven't seen.

Just got back from a two and half hour lunch at Orso's with my manager, discussing the year ahead and griping about the industry in general.  Leonard Maltin was sitting directly behind me.  On the other side of us was a very old gentleman chatting with an elderly lady and his conversation skipped everywhere and was quite entertaining.  He is apparently a costume designer known as Noel Taylor.  The lady was some wig maker in the biz.  Orso is nice enough; but it ain't Joe Allen's which used to occupy the spot.

In my college second year theory class we all had to compose a dodecaphonic piece, and I named mine "It Ain't Necessarily Row."  Yes, I managed to quote Gershwin in it.  :)

Thank you all for your good wishes for tonight.  it has been a long time since I have been this nervous before a show.

And with a snow storm due tomorrow afternoon -- it could be an interesting opening weekend!

BTW (By The Way in internet lingo) any of you living in the Southern California area who enjoy good theater (Jay), the Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena will be producing NATIONAL PASTIME beginning March 18.  They originally had billed their production as a "World Premiere," but I guess we beat them to the punch on that!

Marcy the Marketing Lady is hard at work trying to book more signings, especially in Portland and in Arizona.  Hopefully we'll have some news soon.  We're still doing very well in the amazon sales rank.

Portland, Oregon or Portland, Maine?? :o

I've been listening more to JEEPERS CREEPERS, of which I'm growing quite fond.
I don't know Susan Gordon, but I don't think she'll set the world on fire as a singer; her track is probably my least favorite, although Alison Fraser's "The Blob" is close behind it; it may be Bacharach and David, but it works better in a medley since there's not enough song to sustain several minutes of materal.  I love alison, but I think she's working too hard to make the something strong out of flimsy material.  One last complaint: I find the cover art unpolished, neither as good as the material on the disc nor particularly inviting to a buyer.

However, everyone else is first class, from Judy Kaye's "sing, gypsies!" to Rebecca Luker's fantastic ballad, both of which I mentioned the other day, along with Michele's "Aurora" and DRJose's topnotch vocal job.   I can't believe that I forgot to mention Guy Haines' wonderful Tony Hatch song or Christiane Nol's wonderful "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte."  I think I'll be playing this almost as much as Mr Haines' solo album.  Mr Geisman's work is quite stunning as well.

Did you listen to the hidden bonus track?? ::)

I must say I'm actually figuring out things on this Powerbook that I never figured out on my Dell.  Mr. Mac Man is coming tomorrow at two to show me how a few other things work.  It's fun nosing around.  I wonder what Garage Band is and how it works.

I spoke with Panni earlier and she is busy writing and hopes everyone is well, or something like that.  Since she asked me to relay the message I have had multiple interruptions from workmen.  Panni, sorry I took so long to relay your good wishes.

Jennifer was a smart cookie and a lot of fun to be with in those days.  Still is, of course.  But my most treasured memories with her were us doing Kimmel tours of LA, stopping at all sorts of weird places, grabbing food wherever we felt like it, singing Gypsy and Pippin (her fave) at the top of our lungs, visiting Little Tokyo every Saturday, playing Scrabble whilset eating yards of Taco Bell, and, of course, going to every movie in town.  When she was six I started taking her to theater, too.

Thank you, DRMichael Shayne.

I wanted to mention that I just watched the second episode of COMMITTED, which I liked a lot more than the first.   Nice surprise at the end.

Actually it is not a book.

They are Limited Editions Fine Art Giclee

The artist is Joe Petruccio

This edition was an an AP and limited to 22. I have 11/22

They are also releasing the Wicked Witch with Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead music.
I've seen and I think it's the best of the lot.

The main edition of 275 will be released in March

Can anyone who saw Medium the other night (the pilot episode) explain something to me?  If it's a spoiler, IM me.  We didn't catch the first few minutes, which I am assuming had the scene shown in the trailers of all the dead people around her bed.

What we're wondering is, was something said in the opening segment that had something to do with the guy in jail at the very end?  (The very last segment, not the guy she was trying to put away that took up the bulk of the pilot episode).

Thanks for any clarification.

Children of Eden.

Your post seems to have been written for one reason and one reason only, Mr. White: to annoy me.  I don't come here to be annoyed.  If I want lies told about me, or meaningless nitpicking, I'll go to RATM and read Newport.

According to der B: Yes.

But since I wasn't watching the show, I don't know.

Didn't spoil a thing for me.

...If I want lies told about me,...

Noel, on December 12th, 2004, at 02:54:56 PM, reply # 76, you wrote the following:

Quote
I didn't diss Children of Eden because it hasn't played New York.  I dissed Children of Eden because it's bad.

On the same day, at 09:09:32 PM, reply # 156, you also wrote:

Quote
I answered, being careful to point out that my assessment of Children of Eden's score was based on playing through many of its songs, not seeing it.

Are these quotes lies, or did you misremember?
