We went for an early dinner with our neighbor friends since we won't see them for a month. I splurged and hope I did not gain weight before our travels. We had a nice time.

I just started reading J.K. Rowling's "The Casual Vacancy." A lot of the reviews say that it's not an easy read. I also just downloaded Stephen King's "The Stand: The Complete and Uncut Edition." I read the original version when I was in my early 20s, so I don't remember much of anything about it...other than that's another book that's not an easy read.

I really disliked Casual Vacancy. Vacant would be too polite a term for that one.

Back from op'nin' night, which was not exactly a full house (mostly due to some ferkakte street-closing holiday thing the town does one weekend every year) but which went over extremely well with the house we had. These people laughed, almost quite literally, through the entire show. And it should only get better from here.

Back from a mostly great performance - the actors were all terrific tonight - a couple of technical issues - moving light out for act one but I didn't even notice, and a weird projector glitch on the side panels that caused the image to go on and off - not terrible and apparently it's been fixed already. I'm glad we got this one on tape - the leading lady was at her best tonight.

I'm pretty tired (being on Eastern time and all) but I had to check in to rave about "Levi." It is such a wonderful show: very funny but also very relevant to today. And I really think leading man Marc Ginsburg should be on Broadway! Love that Sherman Brothers score. BK: you should be very proud!
