I decided to go modal for the above paragraph.  Mix it up a little bit.  I started off in Mixolydian (starting on D), then switched to Lydian (starting on F-sharp).  The finished it off with some sprechstimme.

I'm cooking up some rice for a late-nite snack.  (No carbophobe I!)

And after measuring out the rice, and putting the rest away, and then coming back to the computer while the water came to a boil, I went back to totally forget where I'd set the measured-out rice!  I must have spent a full minute, trying to find it.

(But it has been found, and my sanity restored.)
