Back from a really fun holiday show, marred only by our pianist who made a fiasco out of our opening number because he would not heed my warning that you can't lay out an eight-page taped together chart at The Federal - I specifically told him to put in his book - and yet, he didn't and the air from the club began blowing causing the entire last three pages to keep getting in the way of his other pages and finally in trying to fix his fiasco he knocked the whole chart on the floor - that happened just as we were going into the big finish so he knew it enough to fake his way to then end - although I already knew there would never be another Kritzerland show in his future, that was the icing on the cake.  He got through the rest okay although his tempos were on the slow side throughout.  Then he completely screwed up the piano intro to Winter Was Warm, and lost his place at the end of the Levi song Look How It Adds Up - Marc heard it, wasn't sure how to negotiate it and cracked his final not - completely not his fault and it was fine, but the guy was just kind of a moron.

I did make a joke about the music fiasco - he probably wasn't amused and I probably didn't give a crap.

I will say, the two young girls doing the opening number carried on like troupers, were never thrown, not even by the funereal tempo at the start.

Oh, my goodness!  Why can't some people take a suggestion from someone who knows??

I'm back from Kritzerland's Christmas show, which was really wonderful!  Marc Ginsburg sang a couple of songs from Levi as well as one other song.  I think it was called "I'm not Like My Parents."  It was very funny.
It was very funny!  He's terrific, that Marc.

I have heard him twice now at Kritzerland and the multiple times we saw LEVI.  I remarked to him tonight that, in an earlier era, a young Jewish man with a powerful voice such as his would be pushed to become a synagogue cantor.  He laughed and said his father-in-law is.......a cantor.  :)
