Speaking of Amber Tamblyn... I turned on the TV to see if I could get some Storm of the Century info. I stumbled upon one of the new Twilight Zones. This one stars a younger Amber Tamblyn as a girl in some futuristic community where everyone must Conform. The big threat to the teens - which they keep repeating endlessly - is that if they misbehave they will be sent to a military school called... Arcadia!

Re: Creature music. Synchronicity that you should mention that because I have, for some inexplicable reason, been watching the Creature movies with their commentaries. The Creature Walks Among Us has just gotten to the various composers who worked on the film(s) and they are talking about how the various cues were divvied up between them.

And it turns out Creature #2 star Lori Nelson is yet another one who owes her contract to Sophie Rosenstein, the legendary drama coach who got her first Hollywood job due to her long connection with, you guessed it, Frances Farmer.

I have tidied my room and done the dishes. I have eaten Cream of Wheat. I have gone to the gym. I have visited my dear friend Tiana at the store where she worked. There I purchased a pair of workout pants that are actually long enough for my legs. Do we have any other taller females around here that suffer this problem? Regular pants are just too darn short. I have purchased some Thai food and a Tripleberry Julius...instead of an Orange Julius...and now I am ready to look through the Sunday job postings whilst eating Thai food and watching The Fifth Element.

Yes, but I still think ALW tried to claim he had written it for the (at that point still unmade) film in order to get a nomination. It may have even been a Golden Globe nomination he was trying to get, which is even funnier, IMHO. I'm still almost positive I read a Times or somesuch article that discussed this during awards season that year, because I remember kind of laughing when the nominations came out and he hadn't succeeded. There's no question the song was in the stage version first, it's how our esteemed Sir Andrew tried to revise history that I was commenting on.

It did NOT rain here today as I thought it would. It was a beautiful sunny day. And despite the fact that I have a cold and sound like Selma Diamond, I took Sugar for her walk.

The bad thing about it being such a wonderful sunny day is that it did not hamper the Rock 'N' Roll Marathon whicg started about three blocks from my house. At exactly 8:000 AM it5 sounded like there were 4 rock bands with many amps just outside my bedroom window. Then of course all the news had to have "Team coverage" and have a helicopter hovering about.

Since it is Sunday, and being the religious person I am, upon being awakened by all this noise I yelled a short but simple prayer, "JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!"

Perhaps it should be a musical! A holiday special shot in Budapest or Toronto, standing in for ? (Don't remember where the actual TRUE story took place.)

Well, still non-stop rain in LA. I'm building an ark. We watched Noel Coward's IN WHICH WE SERVE today. And you can tell it is Noel Coward's as his name is emblazoned all over it multiple times in the credits. It is also a wonderful film which I had never seen before. In fact, I don't believe I ever saw Coward in his prime. He is also wonderful.
