Bruce it is rare to find a really good scone in this country.  If you go to England try them there and I would be shocked if you didn’t put tons of Devonshire cream on them.

I think you have not watched Joan Of Acadia.  ;D

Now I want to go to a proper tea shop, have fresh tea, scones with jam and clotted cream and little sandwiches.

There's a great high tea at the Plaza Hotel, Missy!

Aw, Keith, can't Jane come back to New York and play?

Well I rewrote and rewrote all weekend and thought I had a not a bad version of the play. So I printed it out and started to read it and started making more changes!! The process goes on and I am enjoying it. I wish I had the time to set aside the same amount of hours each day to rewrite.

And oh yes I am seeing Mr. Jason Graae in concert tomorrow night. He is opening performer for the new cabaret series at the Crest Theater in Delray Beach Florida. Miss Liz Callaway is the final performer.

I cannot say, oh, no, I cannot say AT THIS TIME.  I shall have to look carefully at my sched.

Just finished watching Intimate Strangers, un film de Patrice Leconte - I'll have much to say in the notes.

What's next is the question.  It was just raining so hard it sounded like an Army of people in heavy boots were trooping across the roof.

I guess I'll have to go to England for my scone, then, because I'm certainly not having some faux seven-grain New Age trendy scone in MY maw.

As per yestrday, keep me penciled in for the show, DR Elmore. I'm about 85% sure I'll go. I see no reason not to, at the mo. And if I go - perhaps we can have high tea.
They used to have high tea at the Windsor Arms in Toronto. That was something I really liked. And high tea in Victoria, British Columbia where my late friend Peter Wildeblood lived. That was great fun. I'm a high tea aficionado.

Eating a scone with clotted cream.  I think I shall write a song:

Eating a scone with clotted cream,
Was it real?  Was it a dream?
Were the currents deterrents
Were there liasons with raisins
Were there seven grains
Which is six too many
Was it all a dream
My scone with clotted cream

What a splendidly splendid song.  I must go now and register it for copyright.

...My statistics keep track of new, individual visitors (as well as returning visitors), so this is not a case of the same person accessing the article over and over again (unless he/she is deleting cookies each time, which seems pointless to me)....
It could be a case of computerized anorexia.

No, that's just silly.

Best Hi-tea I have ever had was at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Michigan.
http://www.townsendhotel.com/index.html

I went o their site and didn’t see anything about afternoon tea in their lobby so I called and was relieved to know they still serve it.

Goodnight.

So were we. I think she enjoyed it. She was one of these stern no-nonsense types, but she had a silly streak she had a hard time hiding.

Re Little Night Music film...I do love the little girl's song...
It's one of the few times in the film that Prince showed any skill in using film, counterpointing the song's lyrical dreams with visuals of Desiree's "actual" life.  Not to mention that it's a damned good song!

Temporary Parental Insanity (TPI) Moment:  Oy.  About 15 minutes before Betsy needs to leave for a Temple Council meeting, I have this brilliant idea:

"Let's rearrange the boys' bedroom."

Two hours later (and 1 hour and 45 minutes after Betsy wisely left, LOL), it's pretty much done.

I say again:  Oy.

Well, I guess the pundits won't be complaining about the drought anymore - or threatening higher water prices.  I believe that's why these occasional crazy rain things happen - because these peckerheads THREATEN us because of a non-existant drought.  I'd say that this rainfall has removed that threat for the next five years.
The drought ties in with the snow levels, not with how much rain Los Angeles/SoCal receives.  The rain runs off fairly quickly, while snow sticks around for a while.  It's the sustained run-off from the snow that provides the water during the summer, which is when the water is needed most.
