In March you need six coats minimum.  March is coats month.  If you have less than six coats you will be looked at askance.  Of course, you must wear all six coats at the same time.

Gasp!  I had no idea!  Thank you, BK.  I would not want to do a faux pas, fashion wise.

Dare I ask?  Single or double breasted?

So now that you've had a PC and now a Mac, which one do you like the best?  Do you miss your PC at all?

Well, OK, I've made a hotel reservation (same place I stayed in October, elmore, Comfort Inn-Midtown on 46th St).  Waiting to purchase a plane ticket until I hear back from the person in Cleveland who can tell me if our meeting will be over in time for me to make the 3:30 flight.

Danise, thanks for the offer to share.  With my job and family demands, I really like to stay by myself when I travel.  Where would you stay?  Maybe we'll be close...

Could we talk Jane into coming?

I don't think Jane could come but if I go I will stay at the Milford.  I love the tubs/showers there.

BTW, Danise, my hotel had a really nice bathroom.  Made up for the skimpy-ness of the rest of the room.

I'd be one street and one block over from you.  We could do breakfast or lunch.  If things work out and I can go.

I just finished watching Ice Station Zebra filmed in Cinerama.  (Superpanavision) Very claustrophobic used of the film process. Most of the first part of the film takes place inside a submarine. The balance of part two takes place on a studio bound exterior set which is very obvious to me.

At this Hollywood version of the north pole where no ones breath is seen and where there is shifts in the natural lighting. (Wouldn't the top of the world either have the six months of daylight and six months of darkness.) Also the double exposure of the snow storm makes the situation even more unrealistic. (The film was nominated for an oscar for special effects). The climax of the film was very unexciting and uneventful. The reason for the trip to Ice Station Zebra wasn't even explained until part 2! How boring the wait was.

The only plus for me was the Michel Legrand score which for me was very untypical score for him.

I am wondering for those that saw it in the theater in the original release was it any better than watching it on tv?

I have a widescreen tv and the image fills up the whole screen and just wondered how exciting this movie was or wasn;t in the curved screen process?

I know that only less two dozen films were filmed in superpanavision and last one to do so was either Tron or Brainstorm. Could they have been shown in Cinerama Theater even though there were not billed that way?

I'm getting a high pressure pitch from a certain very satisfied customer to buy myself an iPod. I am being told that my life will not be complete without one.
We shall see...
I ordered an all-region DVD player last week. (It hasn't arrived yet.) That's because I was told by this very same satisfied customer my life would not be complete without that item. Shouldn't I complete my life one step at a time? Just asking. ???

Ginny, I assure you if I could go I would.  I sadly have not seen Penny’s play yet and I want to meet you and the rest of the crowd that will be there, plus visit with the group I have met.  Oh, if only I could beam over for the evening.

MBarnum and Danise, thank you.  Our little guy gave us a scare but we are happy he is on the mend again.

DR td (aka Martin): I think your avatar - good as it is - needs the same kind of reframing that DR George performed with mine the other night. I'd volunteer to do it, but mine didn't turn out any better the other night. Maybe some kind soul will help.

Ah, so I do have need of a re-size queen or king!
Just think of the gossip that could cause should kind soul and DR George have sized up you, DR elmore and me!

Oh, DR George. . .got a minute for a resizing? ? ?   ::)

I do (finally) and here it is:

The picture was filmed in "widescreen."  The black bars at the top and the bottom of the picture (more noticeable at the bottom) are supposed to be there. ;)

Has Ann caught up?

No, but I have!  Here at work, we finally have actually gotten into the REAL new computer system (very carefully!) and have poked around and looked at some things.  It's not as doom-and-gloom-y as I had expected, but it's not as slick and quick as the old system used to be.  Let's just hope that it doesn't totally crash when the entire library district goes completely live on Wednesday!!
