The menu was built on clams and lamb for two courses. I bought asparagus, tiny potatoes, peas, and mushrooms for the vegetables. Tomatoes for a small salad. And a shrimp salad. Portuguese pasteis de nada or pasteis de Belem will be dessert.

I had to dig my fanny pack out of the closet. It's the only thing we're allowed to use tomorrow while ushering. No knapsacks, no bads, nothing that won't fit in that fanny pack.

Well, lo and behold, inside was the winning raffle ticket I got when I won the bird. It was dated Oct. 13, 1996. So, I've had J.B. for 21 years.
