Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in Songland, and now it is time for you to post until the Songland cows come home.

Yesterday, when Annabelle and I went out for our patrol, Thatch in a sudden burst of courage followed her out the door.  He got as far as the elevator, then turned tail and ran back into the apartment.

I think the time is approaching when you can tell him to put on his Sunday clothes, there’s lots of world out there.

I now imagine Annabelle singing Good Morning, Good Day, to everyone she meets in the hallways.

TCB, to answer your question: No, I don’t care for Kelli O, but I found the pacing of the production too glacial and reverential. Forty minutes into it and The I felt it hadn’t even started. And I’d say King and I is my favorite Rodgers and Hammerstein show after the TV Cinderella.

I’ll read the article later, Jane. I had to turn the movie off after an hour. I needed something more peaceful last night.

I think it's going to be like the cage.  He'll broaden his parameters each time he steps out.  I think it might be time to invest in harnesses and leashes.

I thought she was wonderful as Nellie Forbush but I was unimpressed by her Anna Leonowens.  I think I'd have liked Marin Mazzie better in the role.

I'm happy that the London production will use Joshie's tour orchestration.

T.O.D.

Looking at the dictionary definition of "diva," I come up with:

"A self-important person, typically a woman, who is temperamental and difficult to please."

That being the definition, I don't think there are any divas that I would call my favorite.

T.O.D.  (2)

On the other hand, I did see Mary Martin in I DO! I DO! with Robert Preston, and thought she was terrific.

I was at a Merv Griffin show where Ethel Merman sang "There's No Business Like Show Business".  Off-stage, she was rather cold.

Saw Ella Fitzgerald in Las Vegas.  Great performer, even though she dropped her hand mike during a number.

I've seen Carol Channing on stage a few times....

But, "a fan" of any of them?

I don't think so.

And, I won't even mention Streisand.
