We watched The Shape of Water last night - not at all what I expected.

In a good way, or not in a good way?

;)

Well, all I knew was what I'd seen on the Oscar broadcast, so I really didn't know what to expect.  There were 3 cast members I liked from HBO series, which pleased me.  I had to cover my eyes twice and ask Richard, "Did he just do what I think he did?"  And it wasn't until we watched the special features that the Beauty-and-the-Beast quality of the story became apparent to me - duh.

HA!  Today was post office, WalMart, and banking day.

And when I came  home, there was a nice package waiting for me....well really two.

I have read GEE and posted my Amazon review, which should be up shortly.  I'm not sure it is a MONEY review, but it doesn't give anything away, which I was careful about, but I hope it raises enough curiosity to make the reader of it want to get the book....which said reader should do.

I had ordered a new Coby Mp3 player since the one I have had stopped working, and I had been planning to use it at the Reunion to play music, and when I paid for it, my old one started working, but I didn't cancel the new used one because I wanted two of them, and it came today, and it still had a LOT of music from the previous owner on it which I will listen to tonight, and see what it's all about, but I will probably delete most of the songs, probably.

That sentence was for DR LAURA from the attorneys on the case she was on....and on....and on.....

DR TCB you are welcome to come and audition for FDR....but I want the role, too - we will probably have to arm wrestle for it.

Be sure to wear a coat because the temps are going to be down and there is a forecast of snow!

There will probably be too many brats - er - kids to be in the small rehearsal center - since each precious snowflake will probably bring two parents, two siblings, and two friends with it.

I do not look forward to the chaos....but we shall endure.  I think the director also wants me to play Sgt Ward.  Onstage with a kid AND a dog....for this I had surgery, chemo, and radiation.

It's not a comeback....it's a return.....

I very much enjoyed my prize which was a manuscript page with markings from MR BK - of one of the best parts of GEE.

And the inscription was most excellent as well.

TOD:

I generally avoid Divas....particularly self-proclaimed divas who really have no CLAIM to the title except bad behavior and auto tuned talent or reality TV fame.....

Divas I love
Patti Lupone
Bette Midler
Maria Callas

Divas I can do without:
Madonna
Streisand
Kathleen Battle
Kiri te Kanawa

TOD

Cribbing from DR Elmore's paper, I would only add to the "Divas I love" section...  Leontyne Price.

When I got my "new" DVD from Comcast a couple of years ago, there were more than 25 Hallmark Channel Christmas movies still recorded on it!  There were also some TV episodes and a few stand-alone feature films.  They were all from the year before or earlier.  I actually kept a couple of things, but deleted everything else on it.  It was interesting to see what someone else had recorded.

Everyone lost; everyone won.

So, now that you are free, are you going to adopt a cat tomorrow?

I was about to ask if you were going to ask if you are going to go meet a certain cat, or has she been adopted?

I'd say Jrand's beautifully written review is about as money a review as you could ask for :)  Made me smile.  In sending out the manuscript pages, I tried to choose pages where I'd made substantial changes, as I thought that would be interesting.

Mushrooms and olives on pizza sounds good to me.

Same. I especially love olives on a pizza.

How about green olives vs black?   I hardly ever see green as a choice.  In Buffalo some pizza places offer them.

It sort-of relates to my confusion of the morality of situations like Mark Wahlberg, who was convicted of attempted murder and served a few months, but is paid over a million dollars to re-shoot the scenes wiping out the also-pretty-damn-bad Kevin Spacey.  Some people might think any proven attempted murder is scarier than the really terrible harassment that was known about Spacey at the time.  I guess the difference is Mark Wahlberg paid his price, meaning he was convicted and found guilty and sentenced.  The extent of Spacey's behavior hadn't been known when Wahlberg was paid that $1-million-plus, though.

From what I have read Wahlberg has not tried to "explain" away his crime or blame his victims as did Tonya Harding.  I hope Wahlberg is truly a good guy now.
