So, I'm up and I have a lot of tidying today as well as vacuuming and emptying the litter.

I’m ushering this morning (yes, morning) for an insurance company that’s taken over the center for the next few days.

I hope you have an interesting morning vs boring.

DR JANE - I read FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON the play again last summer because someone wanted to do it - it is IMPOSSIBLY dated now and the science is completely out of date and laughable.

I do not think it is possible to do it even as a period piece - too many things are wrong.....

I liked it when we did it in 1983 - but it's NOT for the 21st century.  Perhaps someone could do a NEW take on the story - or maybe someone already has.

Today is our read thru and sing thru - if we have an accompanist.  No one seems to know if one is coming or not.....we shall see.

The director may be a bit late - so I am in CHARGE - HA!

I finally reached the pulled plug. got it back into the outlet, and then everything needed to be updated.  According to my answering machine, it's 2016.  The computer and modem had to reboot.  By the time things were back in place, it was after midnight.  I don't think I settled down for sleep until after 1:00.  I got up at 7:00, fed the cats and went back to bed until 8:45 when one of them, climbing on the bookcase behind my bed, brought down a pile of books that knocked the lamp on my reading table to the floor.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  3/4 of our household went to church and I stayed home for some solitude, that included a 90-minute nap.  Perfect for a rainy morning.

So do i understand right:  Jane is 3 hours from Redmond, George is an hour from Redmond, and Tom is about a half hour from Redmond.

So we'd probably have to really plan if a HHW PNW mini-gathering is going to happen.

Since the "pay-what-you-can" first  preview is Thursday evening the 14th, I'd assume there will be nothing going on at the theater regarding Last Starfighter the afternoon of the 14th.  But since George must be working that day (although it is Flag Day, which should be a day off but isn't), would the 14th afternoon be OK for Jane and Tom.  Then George, if you might want to see the show that night, since the show's always played under 2 hours, including intermission, it could fit in with your schedule in terms of getting  to work the next morning.  Just an idea.

Maybe he'll be there
Or maybe he will not
If no one's playing piano
We'll rehearse no matter what

HA!  DR FJL - exactly right....I thought I made that clear in my email from the other day about whatever but you keep bringing up a different whatever even though we discussed both whatevers earlier and you agreed to what we talked about, I thought.  And my dead aunt thanks you for letting me have the time to bury her.

We had wonton soup, barbecued pork, egg rolls, almond chicken (my favorite), sweet and sour pork, fried rice, honey walnut prawns (Tracy's favorite), chow mein, and fortune cookies.

FJL, I shouldn't speak for George, but I imagine he will want to take the afternoon off to come up to Redmond with me.

My thoughts since he has loads of unused vacation time ;)

I was permitted to sleep in just a little bit late this morning, which was a godsend. Got up, had one cup of coffee, then had to run out to join a friend at one of the occasional record shows, just to browse and socialize. I ended up buying (count 'em): one record, which if I go downstairs and find I already have it, I'll be pissed. At least only six dollars will be out the window if that turns out to be the case.

At that point I was famished, and indulged in the Sausage & Egg McMuffin breakfast with coffee #2, before stopping at Guitar Center to pick up a couple of cables and a small audio interface I needed for the computer-and-monitor-speakers setup in my bedroom/slash/office.

Now I'm home, and thinking about coffee #3.

DR ChasSmith, I have spent most of the morning picking up and putting away books and more books.  I do believe I will have more books to donate to the Connecticut libraries in a couple of weeks.
