That's fine. The Danbury library's sale is in October. But they know me now :) and will take my donations pretty much whenever, so just let me know.

And yes, welcome to parenthood. I've found that the cleanups and fixes usually end up improving matters if you can take the time to think them out. But it can be such an aggravation...not least, late at night when the LAST thing you want to do is figure out how to fix and rebuild something.

I’m ushering this morning (yes, morning) for an insurance company that’s taken over the center for the next few days.

I hope you have an interesting morning vs boring.

We did nothing. I did manage to see the contract for the space: $64,000 for four days, food and beverage not included. There’s probably a discount in there because there’s a public concert tomorrow night.

Well, I'm a happy boy. The record I took a gamble on was indeed one I didn't have.

It's unbelievable to me that I never acquired all of these back in the 1970s when they were being issued, but I recently found that they're in fact quite stunning so I've been filling in the blanks. It's RCA's "Classic Film Scores of..." series with Charles Gerhardt and the National Philharmonic. Today's find is the Miklos Rozsa, which I absolutely must have had, and gotten rid of somehow.  I shall clean it up and properly listen to it on the Big Speakers tomorrow. I'll also check for any others I might be missing.

It just happened that last year I took one of these out to listen to, and found that I'd never gotten all the ones they'd released. And while I'd harbored bad memories of RCA's '70s vinyl (remember Dynaflex?), with the cleaners we have now and the better equipment I'm playing mine on, they turn out to be gorgeous.  They're probably on CD, but I'm thrilled with the cherce vinyl copies I have.

DR John, I was hoping you would not be bored this morning.  At least something was of interest.

It looks like we will be able to go to Redmond in June.

We have never been to a last dress rehearsal performance.  Does this mean we do not purchase tickets ahead of time?  If so, DR TCB is that a problem for you?

Leaving in a tick.....I shall return anon.

My new garden lights arrived today - perhaps I will put them out tomorrow.

Wow you must have really big ticks in Indiana....I am delighted to report our ticks are too small to use as a vehicle

Last night DR George mentioned the Impossible Burger. There's a burger chain near me that has them. I thought it was one of their creations, but I see now that many restaurants offer them. They don't appeal to me--I find meat completely unappetizing--but I think it's great for carnivores who want to eat less meat and more plant food. I'm glad to hear that George and Margo liked them.

HA!  DR FJL - exactly right....I thought I made that clear in my email from the other day about whatever but you keep bringing up a different whatever even though we discussed both whatevers earlier and you agreed to what we talked about, I thought.  And my dead aunt thanks you for letting me have the time to bury her.

Did I hear a story about this on NPR  this week or was a post here by George?

I myself LOVE meat, but I would be interested in trying his burger if it really does taste meaty

It was sometime after 3:30 a.m. before I fell asleep, but I still woke up at 715.

Annoying isn't it.

The title is actually "Spaceman: An Astronaut's Unlikely Journey to Unlock the Secrets of the Universe".  Can you tell I looked it up ;)

I watched the video today and was thinking the same thing.  Since Stats was long gone, when we became vegetarians I didn't miss hamburgers out, just the sensation of biting into a burger in a bun along with the fixings.

I actually think a good bean burger is better than a good hamburger.  The problem is they are hard to find in restaurants.

I would like to try the Impossible Burger to decide for myself.

;D

Even if it tastes exactly the same as meat, is healthier, and better for the environment?
