Wednesday evening greetings!  We’ve had a nice day in Paducah.  After breakfast we went to Ephemera, a funky paper arts store where I’d like to take some classes.  Then we went to a noon service at the Episcopal church and to a knitting store whose card I’d found here at the hotel.  Had a little respite in our room and I used Richard’s computer to do some AAUW work.  Then we ventured out to find the historic Coca-Cola bottling plant that’s been restored, anchored by Mellow Mushroom Pizza.  We had a delightful late lunch/early dinner there and took a drive to see the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers.  Back at the hotel, maybe for the evening.

LOL, DR ChasSmith!  Today’s wasn’t as accessible as yesterday’s - we only got a distant glimpse from the car.

Thanks for answering my question, DR elmore!  I'm planning on seeing "How to Succeed..." and was thinking how fun it would have been if you had worked on that production.

My office is about 4 miles from a small airport, we are in the flight path and often hear planes over head that have just taken off or are coiming in fur landing

This afternoon we heard a particularly low plane , so loud we couldn't hear ourselves over it.

I just learned it crashed a few blocks away in a wooded area.  The pilot managed to miss all the houses and cars in the area but unfortunately he did not survive the crash

I had a belated birthday lunch with my friend Jan today. I was a bit under the weather last week and it had to be rescheduled. When the waiter brought dessert menus Jan asked me, "Do you want some dessert for your birthday?" I said no, but the waiter brought me a small scoop of vegan ice cream with a candle in it. (It was a vegan restaurant.) It was actually Jan's birthday, too, so we split it.

I just finished listening to Ben Bagley's The Decline and Fall of the Entire World as Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter.  I don't care what anyone says...there's no such thing as too much Cole Porter! ;D

I literally have not stopped today.  Lunch, picked up a package, then rehearsal, then writing liner notes and prepping Friday's announcement.

Way too chilly to jog today, but I had only a chicken Caesar salad today - no bread or anything else.

Amen. That disc is a classic.

I just read of Cleopatterer,
That glamorous empire shatterer,
Who to Caesar lost her heart as well as her head.
But that early Roman Nazi
Was so mean to his Cleopatsy
That she fell in love with Marc Antony instead.
Two worship two men in turn
May be sublime
But it's hell when you fall for both at the same time.
What shall I do?

BK, I had to think of you tonight. A friend texted me that she was "biking kale." And I thought, what a brilliant pastime for BK. She meant "making kale," which I know would not be up your alley.

And now, it's time for me to leave work and hie myself to home, by way of Costco.  When I was there a few days ago, I saw that the local Costco has burgers!  They've never had them before and I MUST try one!  I don't know how much they cost, but they can't be too much.  I'll have a report later!

Until then!
