The librarian I prefer to check out with and whose name is also John told me today that the library increased the amount of reservations you can make from 25 to 50 items. He also said you can now check out up to 10 videos at a time, which is great on those weeks when everything comes in all at once.
A few years ago, we lowered our number of holds (reservations) to 25. I forget how many it used to be, but we don't have different amounts for books versus AV items, only physical copies versus digital downloads. We can only request 8 items and have up to 12 digital items checked out.
