Sixteen years ago today, one of the best dance instructors at Arthur Murray was in a motorcycle accident and lost a leg. It took her awhile, but she finally realized that she wasn't all dancing. And she's been rebuilding her life. She has turned to animal rescue among other things and has been posting videos of a pitbull she's recently saved. Sweet looking critter.

Strange that today was also the death of a friend from the same studio. Tom found out just about three months ago that he had pancreatic cancer. He and his wife are two of the nicest people I've met there. Very sad story.

Watching Walk on the Wild Side for the first time. Some really fun performances. Laurence Harvey's accent is about as Texan as Anne Baxter's accent is Mexican. It's all so wonderfully sordid.

It is beautiful that she has found a rewarding new way of life.

Amazingly, I was given a video of the new My Fair Lady production - watched it. There are parts that are good and parts that aren't. Quality was excellent. Then I watched the first twenty minutes of the new Carousel production and it is more wretched than I'd heard - it's like a grammar school production with some of the worst blocking I've ever seen, a horrible, cheap-looking set, and terrible costumes.
