I'm up, I'm up - I was up at six for ninety minutes, then finally fell back asleep - I think I got ten hours, which I really needed.

Tonight we will finish the last two episodes of Major Crimes.  It is sad that I won't miss this series.  That last season was divided into two stories, 4 episodes each.  So far I am enjoying this second story more than I enjoyed the first, in part due to the energy of a new character portrayed by Will Attenborough son of Michael, grandson of Richard.

I have loved every season. I watched all but the last season on dvd. The last season I watched on tv a few months ago. I loved all the seasons.

I have finished the 2nd edits on all of the incidental pieces in Act One.  Tomorrow I will begin the last seven numbers in Act One:
It's Been A Long Day and the Reprise
Grand Old Ivy and Reprise
Paris Original
Rosemary
Act One Finale

The kitties and I will settle in for the Tonys.

Ushered for the first half of a pops concert today celebrating Rodgers and Hammerstein. The tunes I was most interested in hearing were all in the first half, including All the Things You Are and Falling in Love with Love.

There were several sing-alongs and the crowd was firmly won over.

Alli Mauzey and William Michals were the soloists. She was OK, he was really good with a bass baritone that suited Ol' Man River. There was also a choir of about 40 voices as a chorus. Too bad they didn't do the full version of All the Things You Are.

Then I came home and faced some unpleasant business I needed to attend to. As I was leaving Houston at around 11 p.m. last night, I saw a Facebook post from a friend's ex-husband in which he announced himself as gender queer, though he was quick to add that he wasn't gay. Whatever. He's still friends with a lot of her friends and I knew she didn't know this. So, I had to fill her in and listen to her go through a couple of stages of grief.

This is not easy for either of them.

I didn't entirely mean for that whatever to be flip or flippant.

He's a piece of work!  He once called me about orchestrating his album.

It didn't.  To me it was very kind of you to call her and to be there for her.

I could tell that. But his voice was good. His version of Where or When was particularly nice. I had to get J.B. to the Tweet Suite so I can leave first thing in the morning, so I missed the second half of the concert.

Red Carpet report: One of the actresses mentioned that she fell in love with theater when her Mom "was performing in a show called Show Boat."

I found that sentence construction interesting somehow.

Red carpet update:  I love when the Springsteen appearance on the Red carpet was called "Born to Runway" by one of the anchors.

And the Red Carpet is done.

I liked the beginning of the book very much and slowly was just ok with it.  I didn't continue with the next book.  I will be interested in your opinion.
