The FD phone calls were very well timed.  Bryan called before going to sleep for the day, minutes before I was going to take a shower.  Craig called shortly after I got out.

We then did the errands we had to postpone yesterday.

And as if the universe hasn’t sufficiently had its way with me recently, I turned the AC on this afternoon to find all the components seemingly running but not producing cold air.

Do you find that problems can be contagious?

Vibes for much better house karma!

I used to listen to the MJQ a lot in the 1970s. Really enjoyed them. I didn't know they had a Porgy and Bess album. I'll have to look into that.

Picked up a couple of packages and got some enchiladas from Gelson's hot food bar, came home, ate that all up, and am listening to a couple of classic Wes Montgomery albums before moving on to more Delius.  I do feel a little less congested now and I'm just trying not to clear my throat at all today, nor am I really talking.  Later I will listen to all the tracks and just sort of mime going through them, just for timing purposes.

The Wes albums are just amazing - his work with Don Sebesky being my favorite - including Bumpin', A Day in the Life, Road Song, and Down Here on the Ground, all amazing albums.  He did two with Claus Ogerman - Willow Weep for Me and Tequila - and while I really like both, there was just some crazy magic that happened with Sebesky that didn't with Claus, which is interesting.

Just reading up on Wes Montgomery - shows how in the dark I am about some stuff - I had no idea when he died or how young he was.  I discovered him with his 1968 album Down Here on the Ground - I was working at Sight and Sound Records when it came out (just before my then-wife and I went to NY) and I totally fell in love with that album and got Road Song and A Day in the Life, both released just prior to Down Here on the Ground, soon after.  What I did not know although it should have become obvious to me if I'm just opened my eyes, is that there were no more albums after Down Here on the Ground, because he died that year at the age of forty-five.

It is 97 degrees here....so even with the heat pump/air on, it's still warm in the house......

Unless you go outside.  The coldest room in the house in the hallway bathroom, so if I get too hot, I go stand in there for a few minutes.

A discovery like that is a shock Mr BK.

After Allison Hayes stopped answering my fan mail, I waited almost a year....finally wrote again and got a letter from her bank telling me that she had shuffled off this mortal coil.....

Well, my parents' front and back lawns are mowed.  There are three sections, two in the front and one in the back, and they're all fairly small.  It took me all of a half hour to mow it and empty the grass catcher after each section.

I then came to my sister's house and put together the new picnic table that I bought her last year.  I didn't realize that there were a LOT of parts. :-\ That took more than an hour to put together.

I'll assemble the two benches at another time.  My sister said that she won't mind.  She got tired just watching me.

Her boyfriend Larry is going to the Fish Brewing Pub & Eatery.  My sister and niece have never heard of the Impossible Burger that Well 80 has, but this place has what they call the Beyond Burger, which sounds like the same thing:

Here's my Beyond Burger.  I doesn't look the same as the Impossible Burger, but it doesn't taste bad.

I almost want to watch that Housewives show just to see DR Elmore's niece. The only one I watch is Beverly Hills. And I only started watching when Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson came on.
