I'm up, I'm up - maybe a little more than eight hours of sleep - had trouble falling asleep due to a brain loop - I may have been sleeping during some of that time but if I was I dreamt I was awake.  I also drank way too much liquid yesterday so was up a lot during the night, then Grant's mom's cleaning lady rang the doorbell at nine-fifteen to tell me she was parked in the driveway as all the street parking is gone due to filming across the street - I'm sure those cretins are parked where they shouldn't be and I'll deal with that if that's the case, although I don't really want to use my voice today at all.  I'm full of congestion and phlegm, but hopefully that will go away shortly.  That's it so far.

No one else watched MAN IN AN ORANGE SHIRT last night?  It was really wonderful.  Vanessa Redgrave was terrific.

I set my DVR to record the rebroadcast.  I'm really looking forward to it.

Back from all manner of things: Costco run - they were out of the cheap folding chairs.  Some chicken soup and a chicken salad sandwich, then Staples - they had two folding chairs so I grabbed those.  Then picked up no mail or packages, then came home.

It's on channel 21 tonight and I plan on watching it then.

Hmmm perhaps we'll try that

Last night I went to 54 Below to see a tribute to Barbara Cook.  It was really wonderful.  There were 9 female vocalists, including Rebecca Luker, Karen Ziemba, Christine Andreas and Linda Purl.  I think my favorite was Ms. Luker's take on "My White Knight.'  It was an early version that was quite long and the lyrics were humorous.

I flew back from JFK and am not sure I would do it again if I didn't have to.  My Delta flight was in the International Terminal, which is immense.  It took me about 20 minutes to walk to my gate.  Delta has a strange practice---many passengers don't have seat assignments, so you have to look for your name on a screen to know when you have one.  When you board the plane, a little piece of paper with the seat number is printed and given to the passenger.

A truly miserable day, weather-wise.  I guess summer is here.  My AC was turned way up when I was gone.  When I got back I turned it down to 71 (I know that's too cold for a lot of people) and it's only made it to 77 so far (after about 6 hours).  I hope I don't have to call for service.

I only lost a few plants, including the rest of the squashes. I guess it was just too hot.
