DR CHAS SMITH - I don't think those are the legs of Julie Andrews OR Dick Van Dyke....

Here's the "Last Starfighter" photo album on the theater's Facebook: (photos taken at Wednesday's rehearsal) - any "likes" or better are appreciated, of course.  :):)

And here's a shot George took of the show poster on my blog: (thanks so much, George!)
http://music-and-comedy.blogspot.com/2018/06/the-poster-for-last-starfighter-at.html

And again, many many thanks to George, Jane & Keith, and TCB for being there - having a HHW PNW get-together made the experience even more enjoyable and pressure-free

and also Jane & Keith for generously shlepping so far and then such great help finding the Inn, the restaurant, and then more generosity on Friday morning!

TOD:  "Let's Put It Over with Grover" from "The One and Only..." though I gather it was not a happy experience for the Sherman brothers

The trailer

Has this ever had a stage version?  (maybe with NEWSIES as a Disney precedent?)

Glad the tribute went so well. I, too, would have loved seeing Dick Van Dyke live.

I did interview Juliet Mills ages ago when she did Chalk Garden at Berkshire Theater Festival.

I think a stage version of ONE AND ONLY..... is a great idea, too, DR FJL.

I have thought so since I bought the LP for fifty cents.

Rain today - which is fine.

Driving in to work today, there were a few rain drops on my windshield!  It's about time! ;D

Well, it isn't Thatch; it's the building that stinks.

When I moved in, July 1980, the super was an older gentleman, Mr Gonzalez.  I was very fond of him and his wife, and he was a very kind animal lover.  At that time in the open quad between my building and the ones on the corner of Amsterdam Avenue, there was a colony of feral cats that he fed and looked after.  They had access to the building through the basement and I suspect he permitted this for rodent control.  That colony has been gone for over 30 years, but the male cats marking their territory left the walls of the basement stained and ingrained with the odor of cat pee.  Whenever the humidity goes up, the building reeks.  We are due for rain today.  When I walked in the front door with my groceries just now, the odor nearly knocked me over.

Well, this is cool.  I was watching this clip and saw a dancer that looked like Goldie Hawn and I looked up the movie on IMDb, and it is her..."as Goldie Jeanne Hawn."  I didn't know that they've actually known each other for that long!

Loved reading about the Sherman Brother Tribute, BK!  I'm glad that it went well and you were able to get in without any trouble and that you got to see Richard after the show! :D

On a humid windy day in Pennsylvania I had trouble convincing someone the odor was from the dairy farm a couple of miles away and not from my cats.

I couldn't really say so in the notes, but several of the singers were just not good and the arrangements were just odd.  There was a slow, bluesy version of Small World, Loggins did his Tigger Song, Hayley did Let's Get Together, someone did the River Song, the kid who voiced the kid in Coco did something I can't remember, Dick Van Dyke and his three guys he works with did Supercalifragilistic, etc.

But who would believe that plot? A person running for president loses the popular vote but wins by the electoral college count. Preposterous.

And families torn apart because of political differences? Unheard of.
