I think a stage version of ONE AND ONLY..... is a great idea, too, DR FJL.

I have thought so since I bought the LP for fifty cents.

But who would believe that plot? A person running for president loses the popular vote but wins by the electoral college count. Preposterous.

And families torn apart because of political differences? Unheard of.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I wonder when was the first time that happened.

Rex let us know that he wishes to discontinue his subcutaneous fluid treatment as well as all rechecks at the vet. He totally came unglued today; the vet and three techs could not work with him. We will continue with the meds and assume they are working, but I won't take him in any more. He has had enough.

I was thinking about him earlier today.

T.O.D.

The  first time I was aware that the music was the Sherman Brothers was MARY POPPINS.  It seemed like everyone in the world was playing that album.

TOD:  "Let's Put It Over with Grover" from "The One and Only..." though I gather it was not a happy experience for the Sherman brothers

The trailer

Has this ever had a stage version?  (maybe with NEWSIES as a Disney precedent?)

I don't believe I ever saw THE ONE AND ONLY...

TOD:  it would have to be Mary Poppins for me too.  I think we got the album for Easter and played it over and over.  DR Cate ( formerly Kate, formerly Cathy) used to sing "A Perfect Nanny," as Jane and I would say Michael's lines ("That's the part I put in," "I put that in too").  I told that story to Mr. Sherman a couple of years ago and he kindly signed the Poppins CD for Cate.

My first SB song was probably LET'S GET TOGETHER. BK was in love with Hayley Mills and I seem to recall him singing the song rather frequently.

I spent much of the day washing winter clothes and putting them away for the season, then doing some rearranging so I can get to items I use daily more easily. The apartment is crammed to the gills. I need to take one closet or cabinet at a time and CLEAN IT OUT, tossing as much as possible, then reorganizing what's left. My linen closet is the go-to place for anything that doesn't fit elsewhere. I'm reluctant to dig into it, though, as I fear I won't be able to get it all back in. Such is life is small quarters. (Being a pack rat has nothing to do with it!)

I remember Bogie telling me he didn't want his meds anymore.  He was fine with the fluids since we were able to do them at home.  Without the meds he felt better but then I had to guess how long it would be before he would be in great pain and prevent that.

It is solo hard.

Hugs to you DR Laura.

We are in a hotel near SeaTac since we have an early flight to Detroit.  DR Fred, Keith checked and we need to be at the airport extra early.
