So, I'm watching a rather boring production of King Lear. That's cheery, isn't it?

The volunteer dinner was fun tonight and the food was OK.

Show is on Saturday.  Did I really say Friday in the notes?  Today in an e-mail I said Sunday.  This is where I am at, and it's mostly due to you-know-who.  He chose option two, BTW, but never acknowledged me in any e-mail after I took the hard line.  Since I was also on the sound person's e-mail and they worked out whatever they did, which I'm fine with at the moment, I wrote back telling them both that I have spent the last quarter of a century producing over 200 CDs and that my ears are pretty good and that I will be all over the sound.  And that includes having them turn it off if I'm given any grief :)

Been listening to music all night - Stan Getz, Art Farmer, Willie Bobo - all kinds of other stuff.  Trying to get into the zone but I misplaced it.

Melissa Manchester will be with us tomorrow - so what are the chances that bookending the rehearsal day we have two Harlettes?  Melissa was one of the originals, and Linda Hart was one in the late 1970s.

Listening to all this music my ears perk up immediately when something is brilliantly produced and engineered, like Getz's Sweet Rain album, just perfect - Creed Taylor, who was mostly fantastic - he came a cropper a few times but when he was on he was ON.

Isn't that from some potboiler - "you no saxy like Lieutenant."

I adored the musical she wrote at Primary Stages with Jeff Sweet, but I wonder if she got discouraged when it didn't move to a longer run.

The look of joy on her face at 3:12 when the dance break is about to start and she's welcoming the dancers as they join her - that's star magic.

The busing joke in the intro by Andy Gibb and Marilyn McCoo seems a little daring.

Is it busing or bussing?

I wonder how that would go over in this day where you can't say "gypsy robe"

I used to have a demo tape of Tony Orlando having done the backers demos for "Raisin" back in the 1970s.

Well I like the new assistant, she isn't experienced but seems very willing and eager to learn

I hope she is a very fast learner.

Good.  I am glad you like her.
