On my walk to work, I came across a raft of ducks (yes, I looked that up) along the shore. Really cute.

Elmore, have you heard the song, I Love Cats, from Love’s Labour’s Lost? Funny ditty. Don’t play it around Annabelle or Thatch.

TOD:
Early TV themes were always so cutesy, I never particularly loved any of them. Although being such a fan of the show, I guess I liked "C'Mon Get Happy". I didn't start liking themes until later when they got a little more sophisticated as was the case with "Cheers" and "Nightcourt" and I'm not sure Bruce would consider that to be Golden Age. The only other song I really liked and frequently sang it around the house was the song that came at the END of "Just Shoot Me". It was a song called something like "Life Keeps Bringing Me Back to You".

I would also not recommend letting them watch “The Bird with the Crystal Plumage”. No sir.

I found the "Freaky Friday" musical TV film much more emotionally exciting than I expected.  At first, I was losing track of the mother being in the daughter's body and vice versa - but realized that even though this was Disney, they were playing it a bit PG-13, like "Big" had but with more abandon.

Once in a while, I did wonder about the use of colorblind casting (Does that work as smoothly on realistic TV as on stage? I assume these were actors who did the show onstage at some point). Would a minority actor playing a "villainous" person not convey  something not meant by the writing, even if the character comes around later on?

We land at 6:15 this morning. It is now11:15, feels so much later, and our room is not available yet. If I could wash up and change I am sure I would be warmer.

Warmer travel vibes to Jane and Keith!

Vixmom, I was praying for you last night, hoping that something could be done about your job situation.  It is clear that your boss is never going to understand the problem that exists.  Also, it is quite clear that the current situation is killing you.

You need to get out of your current situation, as soon as you are able.  I wish I had an answer for you.

In looking back, I have to wonder that when higher-level people would leave, he'd create this thing where the ones who remain have to work so much harder.  This makes the people who remain be upset with the person who left, rather than wonder if the boss had any fault in the person leaving.  It saves money but logically makes it more likely that others who remain, now working harder than they'd bargained for, start getting weary and looking to leave.

This bit of news and attached audio clip might be of interest to BK and perhaps a few others. The piano playing is, to say the very least, beyond stunning.

DR Vixmom, start the new job hunt now before the idiot who employed you screws things up worse.  I cannot imagine there is not another realty company who could use your talents.

Annabelle and I made our patrol.  We met our new super, Basir.  He seems nice.

Hopefully, he's a super super!

In addition to many named:

Is the theme from "Phyllis" in the right era for the TOD?

Also, I always liked the opening of "Family" with Sada Thompson walking in a dreamlike state
