Wednesday morning greetings!  I have dinner meetings with AAUW friends tonight (board) and tomorrow (book group).  Looking forward to seeing my friends and gearing up for the new program year.

Speaking of friends, I just had a Facebook message from a high school friend.  Chris and I lost touch around 1992 and I feared she was mad at me about something.  Her message is about how much she's looking forward to reconnecting at our 50th reunion Friday evening.  Makes my day!

I guess I don't know that reference.

I didn't either. Someone posted it on That Other Site and I'm casually and idly spreading it.

Will Parker:  Now that I got that fifty dollars, you name the date.
Ado Annie Carnes:  August 15th.
Will Parker:  Why August 15th?
Ado Annie Carnes:  Because that was the first day I'se kissed!
Will Parker:  Oh was it? I didn't remember that!
Ado Annie Carnes:  You wasn't there.

Today I shall journey down to the theatre to sell tickets - or rather - not sell tickets for Beauty and the Beast since there aren't any.....then work the concessions and then clean up afterwards....

Will you work concessions, but rather not work concessions?

Are supposed to not say no today? Are we supposed to ask folks for a Persian Goodbye or an Oklahoma Hello?

Thanks, DR JRand!  I'm looking forward to it, because I haven't been to a reunion since our 10th.  That was before Richard and I were married.

I was awakened by a lamp falling on me.  Annabelle's jumping up on bookcases and elevated surfaces this morning,  Her leap over a sleeping me to the top of a filing cabinet brought down the lamp, but no books, thank God.

Yikes! :o What a way to wake up!

I heard last night that a friend had been taken off life support and then this morning that she had passed away. Ruthy was more of a friend of friends (we knew a lot of the same people), but she was always a great storyteller and fun to be with.

After lunch, I called a mutual friend to express my sympathies and she hadn’t heard the news. She did tell me that Ruthy had gone into the hospital a few weeks ago for heart tests. While there she developed pneumonia, which must have proven fatal.
