I finished the laundry, went to market for Thatch's turkey, and fed the cats.  I am pondering dinner.  I think tonight I will begin Season One of Shetland, a BBC series I do not know.

I liked Marnie. I want to see it again sometime, but on a proper broadcast or Blu-ray. The Fathom quality leaves much to be desired.

Tomorrow morning I will strip my bed, launder everything, and drag out my Grandmother's quilt and the comforter.

Well, it's time for me to leave work.  I'm going to my parents' for dinner, even though my supervisor bought pizza for us today.  I'm sure that I'll have something else to eat when I get there. ;)

Be back later.

Last night we went to a Thai restaurant with neighbors/friends.  The food was ok and my Mai Tai was very strange, some sort of crushed ice fruit drink that did not taste or look like a Mai Tai.  I had a sugar high which I am blaming, along with the dark booth, for leaving my purse there and having to return for it.  I did not feel, or taste, the alcohol at all.

Tonight we went to Beaches on our own.  I suppose Beaches is like the Roadhouse for DR Vixmom where everyone knows your name.

Keith likes a rye Manhattan but complains it is better at their other restaurant down the road owned by the same person.  We eat at Beaches because we prefer the food and the staff.

Tonight the manager on duty asked the bar manager to duplicate the rye Manhattan over at the other restaurant.  Not only did the bar manager do so but he got one of the good dark red cherries, vs the light maraschino, from the other restaurant for the drink.  The Manhattan was delicious.  Now we know to ask the manager to make them for us.  Normally I order a straight Woodford Reserve bourbon or a Glenlivet scotch but the next time the manager is there I will order this Manhattan that I kept drinking.  Normally, especially if he is driving, Keith only has one drink.  Since this was an additional drink from the bar for him to try he had some and I had more :)  Still we did not finish it.

It is very impressive they made the extra effort to find something special for us.  It is not the first time, however, it is the most successful time.

The camping people are gone. I stopped on the way back from the conference for a bag of cat food for the feral cats that are hanging around.

I should have been home by five, but alas when I went to leave our long day my car battery was kaput and my front tire was also really low.  So, I called the AAA - ninety minutes I was told and ninety damn minutes it was.  Thankfully, my sound guys waited but being outside with all the smoke and ash in the air has killed my voice and it was cold, too.  Once the guy got there he ascertained the battery was completely dead - and said it was probably because I left something on, but I didn't.  But then I remembered when I locked the car with the fob it didn't do the usual beep.  That's happened a few times here at home and I've had to go back in, start the car, turn it off, and then lock it again, at which point I'd get the beep and the interior lights would go off as they're supposed to.  So, I'm guessing because it didn't beep that the interior lights stayed on and that certainly would do it.  So, I was just robbed of two full hours that I desperately needed for eating and relaxing AND I have to keep the car running for an hour and that's another thirty minutes now.  So when that time is up I have to go get something to eat because I haven't eaten all day, and I need to put gas in the car, so I'm probably not able to rest until eight, and I have to go to bed right after I post the notes, because I have to be at the studio by nine-fifteen or so.  I cannot tell you how annoying all this is.  We only did one fun-through today and it was only semi fun because everyone is still getting used to costumes and quick changes and stuff.  A few missed sound cues and a couple of missed light cues otherwise it ran VERY smoothly.  After, I worked on a few things for specifics, added a blackout after the finale, so everyone could get in place for the curtain call, and that was that.  And then the merde I did not need.
