It came out pretty darn good considering I made it up as I went along

I'm home. No dancing tonight. Joy's suffering from the cedar crud that's hurting me, just not as bad.

Had a hankering for Salvadoran food. I think I ate too much. Helote con crema (a corn tamal with sour cream), pupupsas with chicharron and queso, and churros.

Watching A Christmas Story Live. I'm not a fan. In the first half-hour, there were at least two musical numbers that were lip-synced.

George, did you see this? Was it the version you staged? Or did you stage the earlier version?

I did see it and didn't love it, but enjoyed it for what it was.  That TV version made changes from the stage version, which we did.  I would assume that it won't ever be changed to match the TV version.

I have a bootleg of the stage version and couldn't watch that all the way through. I like Maya Rudolph in this version. And Jane Krakowski.

Bruce, you may find that the nearby Chinese restaurant does some dishes really well, even if they aren't quite Genghis Cohen.

I think you got a great deal on your new glasses. My clear progressive cost me $850 (expensive frame, the only one I could find that fit my face well, plus I went to the high-quality optician, who does things right and stands behind their work). My progressive sunglasses were $200 AFTER the insurance benefit (low-cost frame plus the so-so optician). These were not right from the start and still aren't, but I have to live with them for another year.

Costco does indeed have excellent prices on glasses, but they only offer one type of lens--their own--and not everyone can wear it.

I've been wrestling with a tax issue that I'm trying to make sense of. It's a situation I've never encountered before. I'll be trying a new accountant, too. I tried a new one last year, but didn't like him. It didn't seem to matter to him that some of the numbers might not be correct, even though it could make a big difference in how much I owe. HE gets paid either way. Ugh.

Well, being in it gave me a different perspective than just watching it, so I really had fun.  I liked Maya and Jane in the TV version, and Ana Gasteyer.

Found a credit card today. Cant find the person it belongs to.

I found one lying in the driveway several years ago. I called the manager and she knew who it belonged to. I wonder if the credit card company could help.

I did about six pages total and went to the couch and dozed off for a bit.  Now I'll mush on for another four or five, then do the rest later.

And on that note (F#), I'm outta here!  I want to do a little shopping, then I'll head home.

Be back later.

I was thinking that later. The new chip cards cost about $5 apiece, so many companies are eager not to have old ones thrown away.
