For example, if you sell property like a house or condo, you save a lot by having a solid record and receipt trail of the improvements you made over the years. That's reason enough not to throw any old years out.

I didn't understand until recently that the new $10,000 tax exemption limit deduction was a combination of property tax and state and local income taxes.
