Also, everyone who pre-ordered the book got a really good deal - because the page count is higher in this one, the price went up - I didn't know that until now, so price is going up tonight on our site - so, if you want it for twenty-five bucks now would be a good time to order.

Glad I already bought it.

Someone mentioned holiday movies, and that's one more thing I'd have to add to my most seen list. I didn't even think of those, as they're such an integral part of the overall season of repeated traditions. But I'd have to bet that a few of those might actually belong at the top of the list. I mean, when you think of how many times you must have seen the likes of the Alistair Sim Scrooge, A Christmas Story, The Man Who Came to Dinner, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera... over decades... that could make for an interesting count.

Albert Finney's Scrooge is another that I've seen MANY times!

I have placed a reservation on the first season of Riverdale. There was only one hold ahead of me.

My library has both the first and second seasons of Riverdale.  Season one also only has one hold.  Season two has six holds.

Criterion is having a 50% off sale on its web site today. I got the new double-disc True Stories set and Hitchcock's Notorious. I could watch that latter movie as much as Casablanca.

I don't know why, but I usually can't find something I want when the sales are on.  I hate that. >:(

I've definitely seen TCB as Scrooge many more times than Albert Finney as SCROOGE, since I only saw the Albert Finney movie twice.

Nothing Hill is another favorite, I especially like the "Ain't No Sunshine" sequence, to my mind a brilliant piece of storytelling

Is "Nothing Hill" a spoof or spell-check playing games again?

Spell-check seems to create even more typos, only the words are spelled correctly, so it just looks like we just don't know what we're talking about.

I must get ready to go out soon. I'm subbing for a keyboardist at a student band rehearsal where they seem to be just working on three numbers from "Pippin". Should be mildly interesting.

Finishing up a Jane Smiley novel, At Paradise Gate, that has been hard to take, which is probably why I wanted to read it. It's about a family gathering in the old homestead while the father is dying.

Revue rehearsal went well, I gave notes and we finished early.  So, in about twenty minutes I'll mosey on over the hill and get food, then go for sound check.

Jealous. :P

And speaking of sleep, I just came across this article:  Sleep helps to repair damaged DNA in neurons, scientists find. :-\

The subject is one of Bing.com's trending topics, so there are more articles there.

I had another bad night, but fortunately didn't have a lot that needed doing today. And at least I know why I didn't sleep well. There are certain foods I need to be careful with in the evening and I was a bit immoderate. Sigh. The perils of getting old.

Everyone knows sleep is important, but most of the articles I see on how to sleep better seem to assume that their suggestions are all doable. What if you have noisy neighbors? What if you live in an apartment and can't control your environment that much? Ugh!

Getting back to yesterday's TOD, a film that came to mind was THE BEST OF MEN. Highly recommended.

This morning Mike's Tech Shop returned my call from yesterday and I had to tell him that I used another service.  He was very nice about it.

There's a Mac repair shop not far from me. I've taken my computers in once or twice. They're very good, but they're also VERY busy. I suspect that's true of most of them.
