DR George I am clad you didn't have a cat fight in your yard.

Thanks, Jane!  Me, too!

I don’t know why I thought the FX series FOSSE/VERDON started tonight, but it’s Tuesday night and I’ve set the DVR to capture it. For better or worse, I look forward to watching.

And I’m absolutely determined now to sit down this week and learn how to transfer these programs to a hard drive and to disc to preserve them in all of their HD glory. I might not feel that way about this series, but I have some good stuff that needs to be rescued from the DVR to free up the space and protect it for the future.

ChasSmith, that's what I want to do, too.

Larry, my sister's boyfriend can do that, and can even make Blu-ray discs of them, and he said that he'd teach me, and I've gotten the programs that he uses, but I just haven't had him come over and teach me, yet.

One of my DVRs is about 80% filled, and most of that is stuff that I want to make Blu-rays.  My other DVR is about 60% filled with stuff that I want to keep.

We recorded (also for educational purposes only) Bunbury.  Pug, the director, and her husband were going to put together a video of the show from the various cameras over several days.  Hopefully, they can put together a good cut.

That would be cool.  That is kind of what the people who filmed SCROOGE did.  They recorded it 3 or 4 times and then edited it together.

People take their archival copies very seriously.

As well they should!

As we crossed the street at the corner of the library, the one DR George spent time at for a work event, we saw people holding signs.  We couldn't see if they were protesting something at the library or not and I can't find anything in the news about it.

Interesting.  I wonder what it could've been about.

My friend from college sent me this photo from the campus newspaper for the play BLACK COMEDY.  That is me in the middle playing the flaming Harold!

Nice picture, Tom!

I thought The Flaming Harold was a cocktail at Trader Vic’s.

Nothing in the news.  It must have been too small of a group.

My college roommate was so freaked out.  It was really funny.  Of course, this was only a few months after Stonewall, so gays were not really “out.”

George, was the silent movie shown at the theater where I saw HAIRSPRAY, or was this actually at the Washington Center?

It was at the Washington Center.  They have a silent movie series where there's live organ music for silent movies, and it's three times a season.

The organist, Dennis James, lives in upstate New York, but does these kinds of performances around the country.

The other plays that I did at Central Washington State were GALILEO, JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK, CARMEN, THE TEMPEST, and SEXUALLY SPEAKING, WE HAVE NO BUSINESS IN VIETNAM.

Until BLACK COMEDY came along, allmost all the shows done on campus were “The Classics.”  We used to draw maybe 40 to 60 people per performance, if we were lucky.

The first night of BLACK COMEDY we drew the usual 40 people.  The second and third nights where closer to 100+ each night.  By the time we started the second weekend, the word of mouth had spread all over campus.  Our last three performances drew audiences of several hundred people.
