I have a Doctor's appointment with my surgeon tomorrow.....just so that he can send a confirmation to my ostomy supplies company so that my insurance will continue to pay for my supplies....I think I wrote about this mess when it happened......

I hope it goes well.

Anika Pergament, a reporter on  New York One quipped this morning that she's not ready for May yet, and still she'd be totally ready for June.

Maybe BK knows, or someone else - Does that mean he had to OK the use of his songs in the Fosse/Verdon Tv series?  Or they just had to pay to use them?

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  Rob and I spent the morning helping move the AAUW book sale furnishings back to our storage unit.  He did some heavy lifting and I provided a cargo vehicle.  He visited with us for a few minutes and has gone home.  I'm ready for lunch and a nap.

That is nice he had the morning off to help you.  Is Rob done with school?  I can't recall his time frame with working & going to school.

My question for BK:

Have you ever had jury duty? If so, what happened?

I'm up, I'm up - maybe six-and-a-half hours of sleep.  Would have been more if the doorbell hadn't run - DWP to trim a tree in the back.  So annoying.

In Virginia we have a safety inspection every year (it used to be twice a year!).  The emissions inspection is due every two years but I believe it's only required in the greater DC area.

I awoke to a list of something called the Valley Theatre Awards.  There are so many awards - I think I've heard of this but, you know, the Valley.  Anyway, A Carol Christmas is up for best musical of the year, Doug and I are up for best writing for a play or musical (why no separate category for best score is a shame - I think I'd be the only nominee), two of our actors are up - one lead, one support although they seem to have them swapped, category-wise - I'm up for best director of a musical - I think that's about it.  A few other actors from other Group Rep shows are up, too.  Now, in every category we're up against a theater called the Cupcake - they will take them all - that's what happens every year.  Even though I've directed shows in the Valley before, I think these are fairly new.  I have no idea WHO votes on these or how it works.

Back from the second and last of the shows for students.

And these were KIDS, man. Like, little elementary school kids.

Amazingly, though, they always sit quietly throughout the show, regardless of what it is, and then go crazy when it's time to laugh or applaud or otherwise react. Obviously there are jokes and situations that go right over their heads, but that doesn't matter. Their behavior could almost make one believe that we come cut of the womb knowing how to comport ourselves, and at some point it's all sucked away and has to be relearned.

I asked Alexa to play The Lusty Month of May this morning and obliged. She even played Julie Andrews’s version.
