Friday evening greetings!  We stayed in this morning and had what will probably be the first of many conversations with the hotel’s insurance company.  My afternoon DAR event was at the Grand Hyatt hotel, so Richard had a beer and a snack while I learned about lineage research and met some nice ladies from California, Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, and Dayton, Ohio.

The daughter of my future daughter-in-law was in a major auto accident yesterday afternoon.

She was airlifted to a hospital; hip surgery this afternoon.

Positive thoughts, please.

Prayers and positive thoughts...

We picked up supper on the way home and are in for the night, waiting for thunderstorms.

No, Diana and Bruce - did she forget the "and"?

Oh!  I listened to it again.  It turns out that she actually said, "Diana, Bruce and Cindy Williams."  That makes more sense.  I didn't "hear" the comma after Diana's first name. ;)

I don't always hear commas either. Only when William Shatner speaks.

Waiting for thunderstorms here, too.

John G, I'm glad the acupuncture is helping your back. In my experience it isn't often that the needles hurt and you should certainly let the acupuncturist know--assuming your screams didn't tip him/her off. There are many points they can use and another one nearby will often work just as well--and painlessly.

I seem to remember the removal of the needle hurting more than when it went in, but it was definitely at the nexus of the pain.

Made my first visit to Barnes and Noble during the half-off Criterion sale. Bought only three old favorites, My Brilliant Career, Tom Jones and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I'm going to the other Barnes next week.

Dinah took a real shine to me - when we did our bits with her she'd always say, "Bruce next to me." :)

I was a bit envious as Bruce related getting his garage organized, and now DR Laura's done a major decluttering. I did some last winter, but haven't gotten back to it. I really do need to do so. Not all at once, just a couple mini projects here and there. Every bit of this apartment is FULL.

I organized my many caps and now the shelf they sit on it very neat.  I did not get rid of any of them :)

We should have done that on the ship.  To top off our stupidity we didn't take photos of the spot where I fell which would have proved it needed fixing.

The young government attorney who stopped to help told Richard right away to take photos.  She was a real angel.

Watching Gloria Bell and I may have to stop tonight. It's not that the movie isn't good. It really is, and Julianne Moore is wonderful, as she is most of the time. But the movie is too much like the French film I watched earlier this week, Let the Sunshine In. Both are about women who essentially live alone, and their lives are somewhat depressing. I need something a little more life affirming in a less depressing way.

And on that note (D-double flat ;) ), I'm outta here.  My sister just called and wants me to come over to help move the tent in her back yard.  It's quite light in weight, but big and needs four people.  I'll be the fourth.  Then, I'll head home.

Be back later.

Scariest new title at the library: Barbie and the Three Musketeers.

Here's the almost equally scary description:

It's "All for One and One for All" as Barbie and her friends co-star in Barbie and The Three Musketeers! Join Barbie as Corinne, a young country girl headed to Paris to pursue her big dream – to become a female musketeer! Never could she imagine she would meet three other girls who secretly share the same dream! Using their special talents, the girls work together as a team to foil a plot and save the prince. Come along on an action-filled adventure that dares you to dream as never before.
