I had a huge crush on Peter Brown as a kid. Wasn't he a co-star on the TV Western LAWMAN?

Watching more Tales of the Unexpected.  Ate some cookies - Nutter Butters and some kind of shortbread cookies with apricot in the middle.

AMERICAN IDOL women tonight:

Nadia is the only really individual stand-out from the women's group. Once again, Janay had a dreadful performance, and Paula was encouraging her fans to really call in to get her in next week's finals.

Honestly, why would a judge who SHOULD want the Top 12 singers to all be good, encourage people to vote for someone who cannot carry a tune? It is simply mind boggling.

A friend brought over some lemon pound cake to eat while we watched AMERICAN IDOL. Hadn't had that in ages, and it was very tasty.

Nutter Butters are a most satisfying cookie. They are one of those odd products that get no advertising whatsoever, but just hang around satisfying people all over the globe.

Julie – Jane Seymour
Billy – Cesar Romero
Jigger – Eddie Deezen
Carrie – Dorothy Provine
Enoch Snow – Robert Montgomery
The Star Keeper – Liam Neeson
Nettie – Gert Frobe

Did the first season have the episode with Jack Weston on a ocean liner betting when the ship will arrive at port?

Weston played the same character twice, once in each seson:

"Tales of the Unexpected" playing "William Botibol" in episode: "Mr Botibol's First Love" (episode # 2.13) 24 May 1980

"Tales of the Unexpected" playing "William Botibol" in episode: "A Dip in the Pool" (episode # 1.8) 12 May 1979

Wouldn't it be marvy if we could actually see one of these casts?

Looking forward to meeting our very own Rodzinski tomorrow.

It looks like we will indeed have a few rather gloriously glorious surprises at The Drama Bookshop.  They have a piano, so we'll be doing the five songs from Bus and Truck LIVE, with guest stars.  More to come.

I still have some catching up to do. I have today squared away and a couple days ago squared away. I gotta read the days in between. Hope everybody is well. New book finished; way to go, BK. Good vibes to all in need.

JRand, I couldn't agree with you more about BRIGADOON. I'm not saying it is a total botch, but for how good that movie could be with the music supplied, it has always been a major disappointment to me.

Also, JRand, I had a little time to hit the good record shops in Berkeley, and I found the Arch Hall Jr. movie CD, so let me know if you need a perusal copy, so to speak.

Yeah, BK. Should be awesome. I will leave here bright and early, or perhaps still dark and early around 6am for LA.

I'll be on the 101, so if you know an exit or landmark where I'll be in good proximity to give the call, let me know. For all I know, I'll think I'm in LA, but really be two hours away from your area. Or maybe it is not as confusing as I fear...

Came back from an evening of cabaret with John Tracy Egan who is currently playing Franz in Th Producers on Broadway. Wonderful and some new twists to songs I hate listening to like This Is The Moment.

BK: He would be a wonderful addition to the rep company of singers

Rodzinski, if you're heading north on the 101, just stop when you get to downtown LA or Hollywood and give a holler.  You'll be about ten or fifteen minutes from Shakey's at that point.  Just be sure to give me enough time to get Pogue on his way from Hollywood to meet us.

Hey, 'tis hard to catch up AND post at the same time! Also, the eldest sister just made a scrumptious dinner I had to devour. Gal knows how to mash a potato.

Okay, sounds good BK. I think I'll be heading south rather than north on the 101, otherwise I'd be in Oregon somewheres. But I get the idea!

The Lovely Wife and I are back from Phoenix and the wedding of my cousin. I also met her two half-sisters, also my cousins (from my uncle's first marriage) who I had not seen for forty-odd years, probably since I was ten or eleven. Though we had exchanged Christmas cards for the last ten years or so, this was our first meeting since those early years.  Both turned out to be delightfully, witty, funny people and ornery like most of us Pogues.  My brothers, sister, and mother were also all there...so the whole thing was a mini-family reunion.

We drove to Phoenix from LA (the rain following us there part of the way) and the desert is gorgeously in bloom from all the downpours we've been having.

I managed to keep up with the notes because the hotel had free internet computers in the lobby.

The computer at home here is still sporadic.  Phone/DSL guy coming out Thrusday to hopefully repair it.

Looking forward to meeting the redoubtable Rodzinski tomorrow with BK.

I'm also looking forward to finding out his real name...or maybe he'll just want to remain incognito.

Rodzinski, if you're coming south on the 101 do NOT go to Hollywood or Downtown - you must call from Woodland Hills or thereabouts.

Just to reiterate, if you're coming from up north and heading SOUTH on the 101, just stop when you get to Woodland Hills (Topanga Canyon or Canoga off ramps will be signs that you're in WH).

I mean, stop and call, or call from your cell or whatever.  When you're in WH you're about fifteen minutes from Studio City.
