Then I went to get the oil in my car changed

I did not go to PepBoys because last time , despite having a scheduled ( and guaranteed) appointment they left me languishing for hours and then also gave me a hard time about my coupon which I had discussed both when I made the appointment and when I checked in on arrival ( they eventually honored it)

This time I had received a coupon from Vavoline and it was $10 less expensive that the Pep Boys coupon price

Fresh baked kaiser rolls

Boiled corn on the cob

I had broiled asparagus with lemon and Penzeys sunny Paris instead of a roll

Everybody at the theater fights for the chance to usher the big fundraiser they have every year. I didn’t get the early ones I wanted — Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton. But I did get this year’s— Gladys Knight. Should be fun.

Long day yesterday, and a long day today.

The WEST SIDE STORY sitzprobe was fun, and the order of songs was well planned in advance as far as which cast members were needed and when. (We were in the "pit" area of the theater and the cast was on stage doing their blocking.) I don't know how common a practice that is in the non-professional field, but it resulted in a very efficient session.

Yes, DR TCB, the wonderful Vivienne Segal created the role of Vera Simpson and introduced "Bewitched" in Pal Joey. She was one of Lorenz Hart's favorite actresses, and she created roles in the Rodgers & Hart shows I Married an Angel, Pal Joey, and the revised version of A Connecticut Yankee, in which she introduced "To Keep My Love Alive."
