Well, I need to be leaving.  I'm off to the audition.  Pray for Rosemary's Baby!

Until later.

Well...that probably couldn't have gone much worse. ::)

Let me start by saying that I felt like I read the monologue well.  For the last several days, I've been kind of freaking out a little bit because I don't like these group season auditions...never have.  I'm sure a lot of people don't, but I just couldn't get into my head to memorize something, so I decided to read what they had.  I forget what it was, but it was set in England and I did a pretty good British accent.  I got through that quite easily. :)

Then, I went to sing my song.  They didn't supply an accompanist, but I thought I had read that people could bring MP3 files to play from, but that wasn't the case.  The karaoke version of my song was from YouTube, so they were able to find it and play it from their phone.  But it was too low for my voice (I knew that) but singing that loud while that low in my voice was not easy.  And then I forgot the lyrics.  I was able to start over, although it took a moment for them to find the spot in the song, but I got through it, said my thanks, and then left.

I commiserated at the Burger King in Centralia (the theater is the Evergreen Playhouse in Centralia, WA, about 20 miles south of Tumwater) with one of their new Impossible Whoppers.  It wasn't great (the patty itself was very dry), and really nothing like the Impossible Burger that I had at Well 80, a local one-off restaurant.  This was more like a flat veggie burger.  The Well 80 Impossible Burger was very good.  I'll have to try it at the Tumwater Burger King to see if it's different or just not worth it. :-\

Fortunately, now that it's over, I can easily let it all go.  My mantra for many years has been, "It'll be what it'll be."  If I get asked to come to the call backs next week, that's great.  If not...oh, well.  It's not the end of the world, at all. :)

George, I’m sorry your audition didn’t go as well as you would have liked, but I am sure it was much better than you think.

Yes.  She was the one who suggested that I audition in the first place.  I also chatted with her about the audition earlier this afternoon at my lunch break.

The two shows that I indicated that I was interested in were One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, directed by pug, and Mamma Mia, directed by Rich Garrett.  I've known Kris and Rich for years since when they used to work for/act with Capital Playhouse.
