Well, the perfect combo of drugs two nights ago was totally worthless last night, and I spent the night in agony.  Around 4:00 this morning, I took another Advil PM and slept fitfully until 9:00.  Annabelle checked on me once and Stella would not leave me alone.

I have a lot of things to accomplish today:  I must put some work into that Babes In Toyland edition that ended in 2011, sort the accumulating bills on my writing table, and look for several pieces of music for that holiday overture.

Last night around 8:00 my friend Eric Gordon, who wrote the first biography of composer Marc Blitzstein, phoned me. I hadn't spoken to him since he moved to California over 20 years ago.  I was in such pain and discomfort that I told him I would call him later, so I need to call him today as well.

We lost Rex yesterday. We don't remember how long ago he showed up here at our house, but we are figuring he was probably 18 years old or so.

We had a very nice lunch today with a high school classmate.  Actually Keith as known her since 5th grade when he moved into the neighborhood.

We were never friends but knew each other, yet she saw on fb we would be here and took the time to come see us.  It was a very enjoyable afternoon catching up and getting to know each other better.
