I also had a case of wine in the back of my car for church and with the horrific weather forecast for Sunday I thought I had best bring it over today

While I was there I changed the hangings to Advent blue, polished the altarware and set the altar for Sunday

I was all alone in the building and suddenly noticed a chiming noise...I realized it was the doorbell being rung over and over

I walked over to the door and looked out...no one there but a big box

Turns out the mailman made a delivery and jammed the bell when he pressed it .

I brought the box into the church office and I unjammed the bell

I don't know what these delivery people are thinking leaving these packages outside a locked church door.

I wonder, had I not been there, if they would still be there on Sunday morning

This has been a wild afternoon.  Stella has escaped the apartment three times within the space of 30 minutes and she's facing the Wrath of Daddy.

My neighbor Mark, the jazz pianist, just brought me a plate of garlic shrimp and rice, which I am now having for dinner.  It's really delicious.

Went and picked up one package, an important envelope, and no screeners - I know there are two I haven't gotten and they have a full box and a half of them sitting on the floor (a lot of DGA and WGA members use this mail place) and I'm sure they're there but they only gave it a perfunctory glance.

Then I went to Jerry's Deli for a sandwich.  I figured after everyone stuffing themselves to the bursting point last night and having tons of leftovers that Jerry's would be empty.  Well, no, it was jammed and I got some lox to go and left.

We need some Creature reviews.  And we need people to actually watch the DVD :)

My son and his family were all sick yesterday. Wae-Ling ate an entire plate of just turkey, dressing, and gravy.

The garlic scampi was very garlic-y and quite delish.  I walked to the market and got a few things.  The annual Christmas Tree Lane has been set up at the corner market, so the corner of 82nd and Amsterdam smells of pine.  It will remain up until Christmas Eve.

Of course, she fixed the turkey all by herself.

Because, yes, I am lazy enough to teach a child how to fix Thanksgiving dinner.

Then she had to go home and have dinner with her family. Which was one of those boxed meals. I don't know why her dad won't let her fix their dinner.

It's been cold and windy here. Brrr. I went out briefly for some food. The sun was out and it was sprinkling. So strange.

I've been awaiting a DVD of ELEMENTARY from Netflix. Netflix says they sent it, but the Post Office hasn't delivered it. nasty comment here
